Photos do not do this item justice. Transom mount replaced with an older trolling motor. This thing is 1.5 times bigger! And the plastic is much thicker. LOVE quick release. The photos here are really bad for how cool this mount is.

Our metal bracket was damaged and we found it. The metal bracket costs $500, but that $50 pretty much does the same thing. So we ordered it. Not as high quality as a metal bracket, for example, only one of the two brackets has a clamping screw. I do not recommend holding a very heavy cane with this mount.

Not sure if this is actually a Minn Kota - seems a lot thinner/weaker than the factory mount on both of my boats and still has no Minn Kota tag in subject. It does the job but flexes a lot on my 55lb pull cart - not sure how it will hold up - time will tell - but it flexes a lot compared to the factory mount. First of all I will write that I have ordered a bracket to convert the MotorGuide motor from a deck mount to a transom mount. MotorGuide (Mercury) won't sell it because they call it a "mod". boo Although it didn't quite fit, I was able to get it to work.
