Nice jar but not enough pump

Lost my little jar of Mity-Vac and 16 oz. was available on Prime when I needed it. Quality product, works with my Mity Vac tools and attachments. The only "problem" is that the can is "too big" for the small hand pump to suck hard. Once the jar was about 2/3 full of liquid by normal pumping, I was able to suck it up. Where I could use gravity it worked well. It was probably an issue with the app, not the glass.

upset. Vacuum doesn't hold

This is a $12 plastic bottle. One might think that there is a certain quality in it. But no! It doesn't hold a vacuum. If your pump can switch to pressure like mine, try submerging the bottle and see if it's leakproof. I, like everyone else, have a leaky lid. I'll try sanding the lid as one reviewer suggested. They really shouldn't be charging more than $5 for this type of junk. EDIT: Looping didn't work. I ended up wrapping it with 7-8 turns of teflon tape and now it's airtight. I don't think…

This is a plastic bottle

This is a plastic bottle. Does what it should. If you try to use it with a hand vacuum pump to bleed or suck fluid through a pipe (like brakes, clutches, etc) it will suck. This requires an O-ring (Oxcell Nitrile Rubber O-rings, 49mm OD, 45mm ID, 2mm wide, Metric Buna NO-Ring, 10-pack https://www.amazon.com/gp/ product/B07F35PQJF/ ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s01 ?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ) so that the cap fits well on the bottle. I ordered these o-rings after browsing 2 and 3 star reviews and these…

Poor quality, do it yourself!

This is a great accessory for your Mityvac pump that will allow the home mechanic to service the hydraulic system faster than the small container that comes with the pump. However, I've been through two of them now. Contrary to what most others complain about, I've never had a problem closing the lid. The tank itself has a too thin wall just below the lid which cracks/tears under vacuum and was the cause of the leak on both units I've had. Bottle so I removed the strap from the bottle I ordered

poor quality and leaking

I've had Mitivac for about 20 years now and it still works great on car repairs so I figured it would be better to use it for flushing fluids than for assembly from fishing bottles. THIS BOTTLE IS NOT SEALED! Fully tighten the top, the vacuum will not pull. I ended up cutting a square piece of material from a disposable nitrile glove, then cut a 1" diameter hole in it to use as a gasket covering the top and threads on the bottle body and pulled the top over the nitrile Celebration. Then I could

Sturdy but no vacuum

To prevent brake fluid from being sucked into my MityVac pump, I wanted a larger reservoir than the one that comes with the hand pump. The size of this unit is perfect for my fluid flushing/filling needs for my motorcycle's clutch, front and rear brakes. As mentioned by other reviewers, the device's lid does not provide a seal. I used a lot of teflon tape at first, but it didn't last long. As some have noted, an o-ring is really necessary to make a bottle airtight. I searched Revain for a 45mm…

Pros
  • Several competitors
Cons
  • unreliable

Listen to the reviews. The cap doesn't seal properly from the bag: it leaks and can't maintain a good vacuum to bleed the brakes. You will need to find your own gasket/o-ring/gasket. I don't know why they sell it incomplete. Use EPDM or PTFE seals with DOT brake fluids as brake fluid is not compatible with common rubber seal materials such as Buna-N (Nitrile) and Viton/FKE. The seal groove measures 45mm ID x 49mm OD. However, it is quite difficult to find a CS O-ring with an inner diameter of…
