By gardening I mean the combat gardening I do in my yard. Kneeling in the mud with ivy removal, mass throwing of daylilies, planting of local herbs 3 at a time but you have 15 minutes, it's 9pm and the mosquitoes are terrible. These are good knee pads, not bulky at all. They have a nice low profile. They look good even if their coverage area is small. These thin shields are better suited if you want a sleek look plus some protection (no repeat hits for literally hours)! You look really sharp. I have half a dozen of these and wear them in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. PROS: It's a good 8 inch length and doesn't fall off like my old Mizuno knee pads when I slide around the volleyball court (not sure if it's because it is new, so it hasn't stretched that much yet).
