🔧 MKS Mini Half-Clip - Steel Toe Clip in Chrome Review

I bought these to replace my compound toe clips as they were too flexible and caused my foot to slip. However, after putting them on they were too tight and pinched my toes - I use mountain style riding shoes. With a bit of persuasion with a pry bar I was able to open them up a bit and they work well - very happy with the result.

I wear size 9 shoes. I think these clips would be perfect for a person who is a size 10 or 11. (US size) The clips were not very comfortable at first. I think if they designed it with 3 ribs instead of 2 it would be much more comfortable as my legs fit in the holster. Anyway, I fixed it with rubber self-adhesive tape.

Bought this for one bike and Zefal "Cristophe” Mountain Bike Half Toe Clips for my other bike (both hybrid bikes for daily commutes). I definitely prefer Zefal. The MKS are stiff and uncomfortable with my soft toe shoes. It was also a bit tight as other reviewers mentioned and I had to keep bending it (which is easy to do). These clips are not as wide as the description says. My Santic narrow riding shoes without a clip do not fit into the clip up to the tip (see photo). I don't want to try to bend them if they break - I can't send them back if I break them. My "con" for these clamps is a good concept, but the clamps must all be stainless steel. These toe clips are great! I've had them (along with the MKS pedals) on my road bike for about 4 months and I find them very easy around town, on the trails and on the 1000km trip through Morocco I just got back from. The best feature is the openness of the clip - unlike the ones that really "lock" your foot (thus increasing the risk of falling if you stop abruptly, for example), it's really easy to slip out of them if you want to. but it's just as easy to stay in Clips whenever you want…
