Works fine, weird side out port

This unit works fine when I connect my Roku to a new 4k TV and passed the Roku 4k @60fps HDR10 test. I would like, as others have said, to have the output connector on the back instead of the side; as a result, the output cable is visible and not covered. I can live with that, but I wish it were different.

Pros
  • Good product for the price

Works for me - feels like quality

When I unpacked this HDMI switcher, I was immediately struck by its weight and quality. I've bought several other HDMI switches over the year and they've all been pretty cheap, but this one is an A+ in the optics department. I bought it because I accidentally had a monitor with no speakers and needed a way to mute the sound - works well for this purpose and I haven't experienced any signal degradation - currently runs QHD at 144MHz.

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • Sad hardware

audi out major defects and some delays in switching and loss of signal

I spent hours trying different headphones and extension cords to get the audio working. I even varied the number of insertions of headphones or audio extenders into the audio output. Nothing worked. There is also a delay of a few seconds before the signal is found when switching to different HDMI inputs. Not at all like just now. I intend to return the block. I've had multiple splitters, but never a loss of signal. It happened on 3 different DVDs

  • Fits many

Works great - compatible with IR lights from major TV brands

I've bought a few other brands and have encountered issues such as the "" on the HDMI switch. This is odd as the same thing Volume down signal is quite common on TVs. I tried two cheap brands before settling on Monoprice and it just worked. It works with my Harmony remote or the tiny remote they gave you. I think it should be an automatic switch but I haven't messed with it, it's high speed and support for my monitor (3480 x 1440 @ 100Hz refresh rate) which was an important part as many of…

Value for money compared to cheaper models

Since my DVD player is connected to a monitor without speakers, I need an HDMI audio splitter. My late wife bought it a year ago but it broke shortly after her death. I've since bought two more, but they, too, fell into disrepair quickly. And it goes without saying that these were cheap Chinese versions. Enough, so I looked for a better one and found this Monoprice model. Trust me what a difference. With previous models, the sound was always so muffled that I had to turn up the volume on the…

Doesn't work with cable TV input

I bought this product to use the headphones in a cable box/DVD/TV where the TV has no audio output other than digital (which requires switching the TV from the speakers TV to digital audio). I wanted to be able to use my headphones to crank up the volume while my wife listened at her preferred volume through the regular TV speakers. The idea was to use the audio out jack on this product to hear whatever device was selected for display on the TV. Apparently this device isn't designed to work…

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • Almost everything is included

Couldn't use Dolby Atmos

Even though the manual and Monoprice say it supports Dolby Atmos, I couldn't transfer Dolby Atmos. and plugged it back in so I didn't get a black screen on my old HDMI switches. I bought at least 3 different ones and ended up with this one. This fixed that issue and this switch is great for people with PS4 and 5. This has introduced a new problem (I just can't pause) as my Apple TV 4K was no longer able to get the Atmos option when on this switch connected. PS5 will be getting Atmos and DTS X…

Great HDMI Switch - Receiver and Amplifier

I decided to spend the extra money on a good HDMI switch and I think it was worth it. I use this in my classic gaming setup. Connected to it are the NES Classic, SNES Classic, Sega Dreamcast (with Pound Technologies HD Link cable) and RetroTINK 2x (line doubler that outputs 480p over HDMI). First, it's MUCH smaller than I thought it would be. be about 1/4 tall but is a good weight and well built. I don't like that the exit is on the side but that's ok. It handles all my HDMI sources with ease…

Excellent for adding external audio to just an HDMI TV

Our new 4K OLED TV only has HDMI inputs and no analogue audio outputs, so we needed a headphone solution. This HDMI switch with audio extractor does the job perfectly! Thanks to the high bandwidth, the quality of the video in our HDR image is not affected - just as if it were connected directly to the TV. A few things to note: (1) Use high bandwidth HDMI 2.0 cables with this switch to maintain video quality; (2) This unit will turn on all HDMI connected devices and switch to it automatically…

Appears to be well built inside and out.

I bought another HDMI switch based on the reviews on Revain's product page, it was a Chinese brand. When using the TV's volume remote control, the inputs are switched. This was unacceptable and rendered the box unusable. Support was email only and the company representative was rude and condescending when addressing owners who had left bad reviews. When I saw a representative of your company respond to the review, I regretted dealing with such a company. I've always had good luck with Monoprice
