Monoprice Blackbird 4K 4x1 HDMI Switch with Audio Extractor - Black, HDR, 18Gbps Refresh Rates, YUV 4:4:4 Review

This unit works fine when I connect my Roku to a new 4k TV and passed the Roku 4k @60fps HDR10 test. I would like, as others have said, to have the output connector on the back instead of the side; as a result, the output cable is visible and not covered. I can live with that, but I wish it were different.

When I unpacked this HDMI switcher, I was immediately struck by its weight and quality. I've bought several other HDMI switches over the year and they've all been pretty cheap, but this one is an A+ in the optics department. I bought it because I accidentally had a monitor with no speakers and needed a way to mute the sound - works well for this purpose and I haven't experienced any signal degradation - currently runs QHD at 144MHz.

I spent hours trying different headphones and extension cords to get the audio working. I even varied the number of insertions of headphones or audio extenders into the audio output. Nothing worked. There is also a delay of a few seconds before the signal is found when switching to different HDMI inputs. Not at all like just now. I intend to return the block. I've bought a few other brands and have encountered issues such as the "" on the HDMI switch. This is odd as the same thing Volume down signal is quite common on TVs.
