Not Worth the Investment

Based on my experience, this automotive suspension product just doesn't live up to the hype. While it's marketed as a high-performance shock absorber, I found it to be lackluster in performance. The only positive aspect of this product is that it's affordable. Unfortunately, that's not enough to make up for the cons, like its poor handling on rough terrain and minimal impact resistance. I would suggest investing in a different brand when it comes to replacement shocks for your truck.

Pros
  • Strong and durable construction to withstand heavy-duty use and rough terrain.
Cons
  • Not suitable for smaller vehicles or those that require a softer, smoother ride.

Monroe shock. for shock absorbers, struts and suspension

Fits perfectly! The only downside is that it didn't come with nuts or washers. Mine got rusty and had to be replaced with a 1981 CJ7 as expected. The ride is stiff but with better control.

Pros
  • Automotive
Cons
  • Not the best

Replacement for FJ40 stock height

I installed this shock on the front of my 1974 FJ40 and it ran with no problems. If you're looking for FJ40 shocks, stay away from the Monroe Sensa-Trac 58497 Load Matched Shocks. Revane and Monroe say it will fit, but they're at least 6 inches longer and fully stretched. This makes it impossible to install them yourself with a coil spring compression tool. You can try, but I'm sending mine back. The old shock absorbers they replaced were completely worn out. They could be squeezed and bent…

Pros
  • Shocks, Struts and Suspension
Cons
  • Not bad
