Can't beat Monroe Shocks

Easy install and exact fit to my 2000 Focus. Make the car really drive and drive better. With the new A-pillars, the Monroe is better than ever. Got fast delivery from Revain, even with Super Saver shipping (which isn't always the case).

Pros
  • , alright!
Cons
  • Not bad

The shock absorber is very noisy when compressed when passing speed bumps.

Despite what I have installed this does not appear to be a direct replacement like the OEM in my Ford Focus. The shock absorber is very noisy when compressed when passing speed bumps. I would recommend purchasing this damper from your local auto parts store rather than through Revain. Don't like sending heavy items back for a dime.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Weight

Installed on a 2008 Ford Focus

Bought these after reading all the positive reviews. I installed them on a 2008 Focus with 212,000+ miles on stock shocks. Very quick to remove the old ones and install these new shock absorbers, only 1 bolt and nut per side. Ride quality improved significantly as my original shocks wore down enough to give me big, jagged flat spots on the rear tires. The shock absorbers have only been worn 1000 miles so far. If you use them and then fit new tires, this high mileage car should be fine again.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Has defects

Big shocks but no guidance.

These shock absorbers differ from those shown in the photo and are suitable for Focus sedans. The top mount is a male mount, unlike the mount shown in the photo. The top also uses different grommets for attachment to the body and there are no instructions. They are inserted against the bump curve with a washer, then with a socket, and then installed in the car. After passing the threaded end through the body inside the barrel, another sleeve is placed onto the body mount, then the final washer…

Pros
  • Previously satisfied
Cons
  • Modern

Easy installation, improve smoothness, value for money.

I have nothing but to compare the worn out shock absorbers on the car but the ride feels smoother and the car runs quieter. Installed in a 2005 Ford Focus. Installation was a breeze, but note that the top of these shocks attaches to the car differently than the stock shocks. Someone posted a review saying they rattle, but I didn't find that at all. I installed it correctly (shock absorber, washer, bushing - auto - bushing, washer, nut) and tightened the nut until the bushings were well…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Disappearing
