great replacement OEM

is just a replacement shock that I would trust in my car. There are other shock absorbers, but I've always had a Monroe and they've always satisfied me

Pros
  • excellent construction
Cons
  • is not as thick as other options

Monroe 5960 Sensa-Trac Shocks

Monroe shocks have always had names since they grew up in the '50's. I replaced them with confidence that they are better than the original set.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • All Right

Good quality damper, a bit harsh handling

Not as smooth handling as I was hoping after reading the manufacturer's description. Offers a smooth ride, more like a "performance" kick that some won't mind. I was looking for more OEM ride quality. Good value though.

Pros
  • Trial version for one year
Cons
  • Expensive

Not for touring limousines!

Incorrect size for Signature Touring Sedan. The shock absorbers are shorter than the stock shock absorbers and the car felt very unstable when driving. In case you're wondering, the store I installed them at didn't tell me anything about the size difference. I noticed a noticeable decrease in the ride quality of my touring sedan and eventually decided to replace the Monroe 5960s with a pair of OEMs [also purchased from Revain] with a new set of tires. Ride and handling are back! So DO NOT BUY…

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Not specified

Very good shock for the money

I own a 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis and almost anyone who has owned one of these cars understands that like the Crown Victoria and Lincoln Continental almost everyone has the parts for it Ford vehicles are interchangeable. So if you have any of these three cars from 1998 thru 2002, these shocks will fit all of them. At the same time, they should be equally easy or difficult to assemble and have an equal effect on the driving effect. I'm happy with everything about the shocks and my shipping…

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Legacy model
