Direct replacement for an older Moog design

Installed 2 of these ball joints to replace 2 of the earlier Moog ball joints that had had their rubber boots died. It was a simple, direct exchange. The ball joints work as they should. Let's hope the new design is more durable.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Running speed

It won't install properly! Twice already!

I'd love to give this thing 5 stars but I've bought it 2 times and it always rolled up the trunk, I followed the directions and no lube is left behind. Now I'm worried that I'll buy a third time and get this problem again. Why is this happening?

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Not sure

Mooged Out Front End

Parts were cheap and good quality. Remanufactured front suspension on 2000 f150 4x4 using mostly Moog parts. I have a tool in the car zone to replace the ball joints. Save a lot of money with amazonwarehouse "like new" offers. Frontend alignment savings.

Pros
  • Cool Item
Cons
  • Upgrades

Try them on if the regular size is too loose.

1999 Ford Ranger 4x4 has had lower pivots replaced once before. As a result, regular sized interchangeable joints will not fit accurately. These joints are 0.006/inch larger in diameter. which compensates for the excessive wear of the bogie caused by the previous pressing. You are stuck.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Update Availability

Good quality for the money spent.

Post to Vietnam I've been using Moog parts on my cars and trucks since 1968 and work as a wheel alignment/brake mechanic. The current tracks seem almost as good as those from a few years ago. I just finished the 99 Exp Sport floor set. Worked like clockwork even at 28 degrees in my shop/garden. This is not a part where you want to skimp on quality as many replacement parts are required.

Pros
  • Pretty impressive
Cons
  • boring packaging

Better OEM! good for steering and suspension tools

Bought these for my 1999 Ford Explorer XLT as they were listed as 'oversized' hoping they would hold up a little better . They definitely look a bit heavier than stock/OEM and don't cost much more. Where I live has a lot of potholes and garbage roads so hopefully this will take longer. Easy to replace if you have a ball joint removal tool and some spare time.

Pros
  • good thing
Cons
  • don't remember but there was something
