THIS WILL NOT FIT RD1 CRV AS RECOMMENDED

So I take the whole axle out of the car and then pop out the old ball joint. Then pull out the part and do a quick trial install. It was too small for the spindle. So disappointing. I had to wait about an hour for someone to follow me into the car zone and deliver me another much lower quality ball joint. So annoying!

  • great product

Excellent quality, highly recommended.

I pressed it in the workshop, put everything back together and wow what a difference. I don't hear a bell when I drive past a hole in the road. Holding the old and new ball joints, the old one had a lot more play, there was almost no resistance when I moved it. The new ones felt tight, definitely harder to move the joint.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • There are doubts

Normal quality is good for spares

I just slipped it in and I have to say the connection seems to be of high quality but the lack of a pre-installed boot is a pain when trying to install a brass ring around it and lubricating grease to shred . the fitting was almost impossible to install without a cross thread or forced drop, and the cotter pin is so small and cheap looking that I wouldn't trust it if I put a slightly thicker heavy duty pin in its place.

Pros
  • Excellent overall
Cons
  • Security

No wedges, no press fits. Patchy as hell

The quality of the thing looked okay. My biggest concern, however, was that this thing didn't need to be pressed in. There are no splines at the base of the ball joint. I used my thumb to press it into the upper control arm, which is very sketchy when you imagine riding like that. I bought a 2000 Honda CR-V which as far as I know should fit. Don't buy unless you've sketched the idea that the locking ring is all that holds your top ball joint in place.

Pros
  • This is great
Cons
  • Some bugs
