Lubricate them at every oil change

It was a great driving experience when they were fitted so can't comment on the ease of installation just make sure you lubricate them at every oil change.

There's a lot of value here folks. press-fit zone.

Lots of good stuff here guys. The press fit area is serrated so that it fits snugly against the control lever. The rubber cover is thick and durable. There is also a lubricant in the case so that excess fat can escape and the case does not burst. You don't pay too much for anything here.

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Upgradeable

Low price, OEM quality, Easier than OEM fitment

Fits my 2002 Ford Ranger XLT 4x4 just like the originals. Very easy to assemble with a ball joint puller. At the same time I change wheel bearings and shock absorbers. runs well, have done about 2000 miles with no problems, tires are now wearing out properly as they fixed my crash problem.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Not the best

They are awesome!: Shocks, Struts and Suspension

I replaced my crappy broken original parts on my Ford Ranger with these. Direct replacement and lubricated port to extend service life. Installation wasn't difficult and the longest part broke the ankle. After that just go to the car dealership and rent a press for ball joints, press them out, press new ones in. READY. Put everything back together and level the car. All in all a very reliable product from Moog! I wish Ford would have supplied them from the factory! -Nigel

Always has been and always will be - trust Moog parts!

Amazing. Excellent price. They went right in, perfect fit. I had to hire a tool from a local parts store, but with that tool and a little ingenuity (as there are NO INSTRUCTIONS on a ball joint press!), I made the ball joints myself using a small jack and a handful tools used. Before studying, I worked as a mechanic for many years and assembled front parts for several years. The Moog has always been my go-to for quality parts. I don't know of any reputable mechanic who would try to claim that…

fits perfectly, but there was no dust with me.

Looks good quality, fits perfectly but there was no boot in my set. Moog says it has an internal dust cover, which it does upon my inspection, but I still don't trust it so I was able to keep my old boot and install it with the new ball joint. I rented a ball joint press from Autozone to install it. IMPORTANT INSTALLATION NOTE: There is a grease drain valve on the ball joint. Make sure it faces away from the brake pads. So you'll know when there's enough grease in the joint when grease is…

  • Handy item

  • Slightly wrinkled

*ok but add lube BEFORE fitting*

This is the second Moog ball joint I've bought and I was expecting it to be pre-lubricated by the manufacturer (grease was visible when screwing in the grease fitting) . The first had no problems, but the second started making metallic noises about 6 months after installation. Adding lube eliminated the noise, but the fitting didn't accept lube until I lifted the wheel off the ground (pressure must have been released where the grease passage was blocked in the joint. The other Moog ball joint…

  • Decent job

  • Easily repairable

Ford Ranger is good for ball joints

I've heard a horrible squeak/creak when driving a '98 Ford Ranger 2wd XLT through speed bumps and normal bumps in the road. So bought, exchanged, filled with the right grease/grease and the squeaking is gone. I've never changed ball joints. Tips I can offer: Sockets: 24mm deep or 15/16 for original castle nut, then used 27mm deep for new nut (torque: 83-113 per Haynes manual); 15mm is used for the control arm coupling nut (tightening torque: 35-46); Upside down 5 gallons. a vane for supporting…
