🚚 Moroso Air/Oil Separator Catch Can Kit, Compatible with Dodge Ram trucks featuring 5.7 and 6.1 Hemi, 2009-2018 Review

This kit was recommended for my 14 year old Hemi in my Ram. Looks cool but also prevents a significant amount of oil from burning through the intake causing sludge and deposits. Easy installation and easy draining.

So far everything is working as expected. Although it's mislabeled on Revain. According to Moroso's website this part number (85479) is for a Hemi motor and fits my Ram with Hemi perfectly.

This Moroso product arrived on time and well packaged. It fits my 2012 Ram 1500 Hemi perfectly, works very well and is of good quality. The only thing I added was a clip to prevent the orange plastic cap from coming loose, which apparently happens.

This will NOT fit the 2017 Ram 1500. The instructions that came with it indicate that Ram has redirected the radiator line on the 2017 models. Even if you try to bend the bracket back and forth, you won't find a clear mounting position. After a bit of research, it turned out that this line was changed in 2015, so don't buy it unless your truck is a 2014 model or older.

Installation was easy. The instructions were ok, the black and white pictures in the instructions are unusable. Revain lists this item for the Mustang, but it's actually for the Dodge Ram. That's what I bought it for, it's for my Dodge. Revain has great prices but doesn't always do the right details so do your own research. So it works.

The Moroso Air/Oil Separator has been on my 2011 Ram for about 7 years now. Worked well and still looks good. The only problem I had was that when I changed my oil I started noticing that I didn't have much oil in it. The last time I changed the oil and there was nothing in the separator, I noticed that the hoses on the separator were being pushed down. I emailed Moroso but unfortunately I didn't even get a reply. As said, fits on the Dodge Ram. I installed it on my 2012 Ram 1500 R/T. I also installed a generic model on a Chevy truck. Works great and looks good too! It prevents oil from being sucked into the intake manifold by the PCV system which can build up on the valves causing poor performance and also if oil gets into the manifold and mixes with the fuel the computer interprets this as Gasoline burns with lower octane rating and slows down time. which also results in loss of power.
