🔌 Motive Products 1107 Adapter Solution Review

This adapter worked well on my 2014 Subaru Forester. No leaks. I followed someone's advice and used an air coupling between this and the vent hose. This makes the connection to the master much easier and makes it easy to switch adapters between this and the adapter for my MINI!

This adapter will fit some Ford vehicles but not most. For example, it will not fit most Ford Explorers after February 2002. It will fit the 2002 Sport Trac, but will not fit the 2002 Explorer with Advance Trac. Will not fit 2005-2019 Explorers. I've had good luck with their European threaded adapter, but don't beware every car that doesn't have a threaded master cylinder cap.

ALMOST, NOT COMPLETE, but ALMOST impossible to depress with enough force to rotate the 1/6 turn required to connect as intended Minemaster Ford Escape 2009. Cylinder. I tried for two days and then took this 1107 adapter to the dealer and the third mechanic who tried actually installed it successfully. I understand that engineering design must ensure that no supplied air pressure escapes through this connection, but this 1107 adapter requires a BAD change in the depth of the three port lugs.

Just used a fluid flush adapter on my 2005 F150. It was difficult to get him to sit on the tank, it took me more effort than I would have liked. When I first used it I couldn't get it to seal no matter what I did. I'm not sure what the second o-ring is official for as there's no manual for it, so at first I thought it was just a replacement for what's in the cap should it fail. I ended up putting it on and rolling it over the o-ring that's already in the lid and that finally allowed it to seal.

You'd think this $30 thing would work fine, and I'm sure it will work for most people, but mine turned out to be junk. Anything over 7psi and the hose fitting directly at the brake reservoir adapter will start to leak. Couple that with the fact that it was so tight on my brake reservoir that it took a strap wrench to remove. Now it might be a matter of creating a good seal to withstand the ominous 15psi pressure. Motive ships the 1107 with an extra o-ring but doesn't bother to tell you what the extra o-ring is for. Obviously the inside diameter of the brake reservoir on some Ford necks is variable. The Motive comes with a "thick" o-ring which I think will fit some tanks. The replacement O-ring is made of thinner rubber. This is for tanks with narrower necks. Like the expansion tank on my Mustang. But Motive didn't send any documents. You have to go to their website and read the FAQ page to find out that

I bought this for a 2008 Subaru Outback (base model) and of course it fits. Please follow the instructions on the Motive website: you must line up the tabs and apply very strong pressure before twisting the cap to lock it. I didn't think it would work at first, but the o-ring on the adapter cap is really tight and it might be a good idea to lubricate it with some brake fluid.
