I always buy Motorcraft filters for my F150, 5.4 pickup. I used to buy cheaper ones and throw them away because they were poorly made and didn't fit. Off brands are cheap, but you don't want to sacrifice basic engine protection. Oil and filters should always be the best you can afford to get your truck past the 200,000 mile mark like me.

This filter fits as designed. I will not go back to the "less appropriate" fram I've been using for years. I had a problem with the air sensor on my 2002 Ford F-150 and I have a feeling that the filter probably contributed to the problem. For those who don't know, there is a sensor in the tube that leads to the motor. If it is dirty and/or clogged, the engine will almost stop. The sensor can be cleaned, but it is better to replace it.
