Description of ๐Ÿ”ฅ Motorcraft FL-1995 Oil Filter: Ultimate Performance and Protection for Your Engine

Helps protect against engine wear by screening out abrasives, such as carbon, sand, dust and bits of metal before they can get into your oil. Pressure-relief valves help minimize the chance of contaminated oil circulating back into the engine. Pressure-relief valves also help maintain the supply of oil to the engine under extreme cold conditions or if the filter gets clogged. Steel cases are โ€œironedโ€ for a precise fit, fluted to ease removal and painted to resist rust. Efficient filter media offers increased dirt-collecting capability and ability to capture more engine-harming particles.

Excellent OEM Filter in Aftermarket

Used on 2002 F250 Powerstroke. Fits as expected, never had any problems. OEM quality. You can also use this on older 7.3 diesel engines like my 89 F250 IDI which normally uses the smaller FL-1995 filter. The base is the same, just longer.

Pros
  • Excellent Construction
Cons
  • Some Small Things

I will go to the store next time. ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ

The filter arrived dented and with paint peeling off the top and bottom around the O-ring. I can't find enough chips to make sure there aren't any in the filter itself. Also pretty sure there is usually a gasket covering the bottom of the filter to prevent this?

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Safety

Suitable for (some) IDI

Good filters. I use it on both my 1985 E350 6.9L IDI camper (two RWD) and my 1987 F250 6.9L IDI (RWD) and it's perfect for both and on the way to a very large filter has nothing. Some people have trouble installing IDI, maybe 4WD? Add an extra quart of oil if using for IDI.

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • Nothing here

This is an oil filter

Nothing to say. I have a 7.3 liter spool bus and this filter bolts to the bottom of the old engine and filters the rotella for about 5000 miles then I unbolt it and throw it away. My van is 204k, I plan on keeping it for a long time so keep sending them, I will keep buying these Motorcraft filters. End.

Pros
  • Absolute legend
Cons
  • Empty

Perfect fit for my Ford Diesel. Help my old 7.3 run for a long time.

Free shipping Fast delivery. Accurate factory part. No travel/downtime, going to the store, queuing. It spins really smooth and fast. I love it and will get more. Highly recommended by a commercial vehicle owner here in Maine. I paid for this filter and did not get any free items or money for my review.

Pros
  • Best in class
Cons
  • Available in white only

You know, at this price point, is there really any reason not to go OEM? No one ever says the Motorcraft filter sucks, but many argue Motorcraft is better. My theory is if the price is similar it's an OEM and if you're really concerned about extra microns slipping away put a magnet on your filter which will remove any metal from your motor smaller than that sieve is.

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • vulgarity

230,000 and counted Filters

I used these original filters on my '96 Ford 7.3 Diesel and they seem to do the job. The 2 liter size surprised me on my first oil change when I broke the seal after the oil spilled from the filter. The filter then slipped out of my hand while removing it and spilled onto my shop. After that I started punching a hole in the bottom of the filter with a screwdriver to drain the oil before removing the filter. The last batch of filters came in a bag, not a box. The filter packaging was roundedโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Tested for one year
Cons
  • Error
