Don't waste money! for CB and Radios

I bought these for the hunting season last year for my husband and I to use as we needed a new set of radios. Worked great a few times last year (maybe 4 times). I just took them out of my game bag to charge for an upcoming hunt and one of the two won't turn on or charge. I thought it might be the battery so I took it out and replaced it with new AA batteries. Nothing. What a waste! If I knew they would break after a few uses I definitely wouldn't waste my money. Save money and find the ones…

Misleading specs

Bought these radios as a gift for my son in August. A week ago I decided to use it but the batteries didn't fit. You have poor battery life. The other big problem is that it could only communicate up to 500 meters away and you could barely hear the other person. It is very misleading when the seller advertises that these radios have a range of up to 35 miles. Well it's a joke. Be very careful, these radios have a beautiful appearance but internally they are outdated. That's a waste of money. I…

Trash radios don't work in the field!

Both radios operate on a fully charged rechargeable battery or 3 AA batteries. Tried both ways. in the house But when I took them out hunting, one or both of the radios wouldn't work at all, wouldn't turn on at all. Works only after batteries are removed or battery packs are disconnected and reconnected. I bought it in fall 2015. I only used it in the next hunting season in 2016. At that point I could not return. Have done this every time I've tried them at different times thinking I'm doing…

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Unthinkable

When I was testing these radios, my lieutenant was standing motionless at the kitchen table in my house. Then I walked out the front door onto the sidewalk, turned north, and kept walking while still checking in with my lieutenant on those walkie-talkies. We were able to communicate at a distance of about 200 meters. Then they became useless. I assume this was due to the houses (about 10) between the two walkie talkies. Thus, these devices are nothing more than children's toys in the…

Talkabout for hunting

We've had the original Motorola Talkabout for about a decade now. They were good for hunting, but worn out. So last year I bought us new, you know, the latest and greatest. You are terrible; we tried to please them, but in the end I came to the conclusion that there was too much wrong with them. So I decided to see if they had a new version of the radio call. We are very positively surprised. As hunters, we are very happy with these walkie-talkies. We get along well. Also, everyone else can use

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Definitely an upgrade to my old radios.

I've seen mixed reviews but mine works great. Looks very solid compared to cheaper radios with fewer features. I like the weather forecast reception mode and the alarm function. If the weather changes while I'm away, I can turn on the local weather frequency and get updates. Switching from high-power broadcasting to low-power broadcasting is done with the two corresponding PTT (push to talk) buttons. My old radios required a mode/menu change. The first seven channels (FRS) were compatible with…

What a lifesaver! - Radio

We are in our early 60's and have been spoiled by being passengers on trips further than our local grocery store. When we decided to move over 800 miles to a remote location, I knew I would have to make multiple trips as a driver. Ouch! I was so worried and my confidence was shattered. So my wonderful husband decided that we would buy some walkie talkies and after some research we bought them. They worked great and are so easy to use! No need to fiddle with your phone to chat, just press a…

These Motorola T465 radios are not as good as previous MS, MT or MR models.

I bought a pair of T465's for hunters hoping they would be better than the old Motorola and other FRS/CMRS radios. But unfortunately they disappointed me. Why? Transmission modulation on these devices is low during a normal conversation, as if you were speaking into the device. Poor quality control, one radio was broadcasting a lower volume than the other radio so they were inconsistent in quality. What annoys me more is that the scan mode is slowly locking onto your priority channel. Let's say
