I need them because the ones I had in the package.

They are needed because the ones I received in the package from my Hurst shifter were very soft (no spring) and fell off during a test drive. I used cotter pins until I got them. I notified Hurst and was not satisfied. These MGs were the right stuff and I took the metal bushings to replace the plastic bushings that came with the derailleur.

The Hurst Competition Plus derailleur on my 1969 Muncie M21 had a lot of play due to worn nylon derailleur bushings. This kit allowed me to replace the nylon bushings with hardened steel bushings that tightened everything up and outperformed the nylon replacement bushings by a lot. I am a very worthwhile upgrade point.

Worth 5 Stars in Transmission & Transmission

These bushings are really good, . Tolerances are a lot tighter than nylon bushings in my opinion and the clamps hold everything nice and tight. I use these bushings and clamps every time I work on a derailleur or transmission. I find that by installing shift stops on your Hurst or other derailleur, you don't shift too much once the stop is reached. This is very important as I broke the gearbox side plates when the shift stops were inaccurate. If you take extra care setting up your Switch and…
