Works Great - Fuel System

Installed on a 1969 Mustang that was having starting problems after overheating. This completely fixed all issues and was easy to install. Good thing it comes with two pads.

Pros
  • Absolutely Amazing!
Cons
  • Appearance

a good choice. about the fuel system

This worked well to protect my carburetor from heat. Now less dirt accumulates as it burns. I feel like this made the throttle a little less responsive, but that can only be in my head.

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • Long delivery

The rivets supplied are unusable

Spacer as described, looks good and solves my hot start problem. The low view refers to the included cleats; They are short enough to install a carburetor. Be prepared to order additional threads separately at the same time, rather than figuring it out trying to install and then ordering new ones and waiting again.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!

My leakage problem has been solved

Not such a big deal if you use an electric pump but in the heat of the AZ the fuel boiled out of my carburetor causing excessive start times for my truck. This phenolic insulator solved the problem 100%. In fact, this is the second purchase for the current project. Nice that gaskets and screw inserts are included.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Nothing here

Heat shield seal

After driving my 63 Nova with a 350 engine for a while on a warm day, I had trouble starting it. The fuel boiled out of my carburetor and I had to crank it for a long time to fill it. The 1" spacer completely eliminated this problem. It starts the first time. After speaking to several mechanics, they concluded that the problem was caused by the ethanol used in modern gasoline. Now my car starts and runs great.

Pros
  • Handy thing
Cons
  • Some problems

No more vapor barrier best in spares

On hot summer days I had some trouble starting the 5.0 liter engine in my Mustang. I installed it under my Edelbrock carburetor and didn't have to worry about the vapor lock feeling. One thing to note, in the picture it looks like the gasket is solid, in fact the back is hollow (ribbed/skeletonized). Which is good in a way because it has less surface contact to absorb heat. I hope this review has helped you make an informed decision.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Nothing

Can help with vapor lock

I had intermittent problems with the vapor lock on my Ford 352 FE with 4100 carb and then turned it back on. It would be a bit slow to start, then start and die. I had to let it cool down for a few hours, then everything was fine. I've read about carburetor isolators and this one seemed best for my purposes. It looks and feels good and comes with longer mounting bolts, nuts and spacers. It was easy to install and my machine runs as good or better than before. He hasn't fixed me yet, but not…

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Has some quirks
