This is a fairly soft pad. The size wasn't big enough for my horse but I just tried it on a green horse, he did great and liked the bit. Don't throw your head back and give more willingly.

It's amazing! Not only is my horse more consistent, but he respects me enough when I make small adjustments during the half-stops. I struggled to find something that he would also push, but also not exploit. This beat is perfect!
