Doesn't tolerate hardwood well

Purchased for kitchen chairs. They are very old, some over 100 years old. The wood is hard, cherry and oak, and fairly dry. Even when a drill was used to drill a pilot hole, the nail on the pad was bent. I only tried one and then returned a set. I suspect this will work well on new/less dry and hard wood furniture. If it worked it would be a good deal.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Some issues

Good work! for furniture pads

I've tried ones that stick and ones that attach with small latex condoms and neither has worked. Clay always failed. These nails on felt have been rock solid so far, perfectly perfect. I was hesitant to drill my chairs but I'm glad I did. Remember that you will need to pre-drill the holes with an electric drill. It's easy, but skipping this step will make it harder for you to nail them down.

Easy installation. Holds up great.

We prefer felt pads on our dining room chairs so they glide easily over hardwood floors. We've used a stick of release paper for years but they didn't stay in place and we ended up with scratches and sticky glue on the floor and underside of the chair legs. The felt still wears out on these new ones so they need replacing from time to time but don't have to deal with glue - which is great and they stay in place.

Fragile and Small Furniture Hardware Item

These trims are thin and small. They're supposed to be 0.8" wide, but the base is 0.75" and the pad is 0.7" wide. It may seem trivial, but with a chair leg, a little width matters. Also, the Nail thinner.than other planks with nails so the previous airframe can't be easily replaced with the same hole. And what's worse, the nail on this one will be destroyed when hammered in.They might be good for small applications and softwoods, but for many chairs they are useless.

Great product - much better than the 'sticky' look

Love this product - we bought this to use on the underside of stools, chairs and table legs so they don't scratch our hardwood floors . We have always used felt pads (similar to this one) in the past but only attached with glue and end up finding them all over the floor because they fall off within a few weeks. Although I only put them on this week - I'm sure they will work much better! I ordered another pack of these to make a dining table and chairs.

  • Free for educational purposes

  • Working speed

Save my new floors!

I bought these for my footstools after my floor installer suggested them. I have sanded slate floors and we have to be careful not to drag anything across the floor or it will get scratched and there is no touch up stick for slate. Round felt pads with glue don't last long, but they are nailed down so they don't fall off! They even glide smoothly over the gap and our chairs are heavy. I've bought several for chairs around the house that also have direct contact with hardwood floors. Please make

Ideal for chairs with thin legs.

Our dining chairs have narrow legs (less than an inch in diameter) and I've tried many different felt pads. Stickers, silicone bushings, hard plastic bushings. There's always a problem. The pads fall off after a while. The sleeves are either too small or too big. Our chairs have hard plastic legs so I was hoping these nail pads would fit and after a few weeks of use they did! Repairing them requires some finesse. I bent a few times and had to try again, but first a light tap and then a harder…
