Waste of money on door closers

This product was purchased in November and failed in March. The 'press and hold' feature (which is what we bought it for) failed completely, rendering the product unusable. No warranty and outside of my Revain return window. waste of money. TO UPDATE. We originally bought 2 of these in November 2020. Now (September 2021) the second one is completely out of service, just like the first one. And I don't think we've used the press and hold feature more than a dozen times. I'm telling you these…

Works as described. Ease of installation.

Robust construction is the hallmark of this product. Installation was easy, although I almost bought it because of the door slam comments; I have found that adjusting the closing force is very, very easy. All you need is a Phillips screwdriver and 5 minutes (or less) to open and close the storm door until you find the setting you want. The locking function works as described. After pressing the button, the door stays open in the right place. To close it, just press it lightly and the door…

Installation was pretty easy and the mechanism held the door open.

Installation was fairly easy and the mechanism for holding the door open was well designed. i really like it The only thing I don't like is that the feed mechanism is not very smooth. It slowly retracts (i.e. it pushes air out of the hose) but when it hits the last 5% it locks into place. It's hard to explain without a diagram, but as it manifests, your door slowly closes, but when there's 1-2 inches left it just slams shut. The answer to this question lies in adjusting the fasteners so that…

Looks good, works well

Looks good, works well. Saved my old storm door from a complete replacement. BUT the "tap lock" mechanism is broken and no longer works, and here's why: to unlock it, you have to push the door in the opposite direction to closing. to release the mechanism. Mechanically it makes sense. Once the instructions tell you it makes sense. BUT, because it goes against common sense. 3 different people who didn't know anything tried to close the door in an intuitive way and the third time it broke. So I…

A great alternative to a normal opener!

I'll admit I was a bit skeptical about this "touch" opener, but I couldn't be happier! Works like clockwork. just press the button, open the door where you want it, and let go. he stays in place. To release, simply push the door outwards and it closes. exactly as described. If your door has two closers, I recommend using them from the top instead of the bottom. I tended to press the button too hard when it was down, which resulted in the end cap unscrewing a couple of times. never mind I just…
