Uses a spring ratchet locking mechanism to securely hold against circle tension and work with non-standard circlips. Interchangeable tips and frame are made with hardened, heat treated steel for durability and long service life. Comes with straight tips attached and includes 4 quick-change snap ring tips: 2- 45 degree, 2- 90 degree. Built to last; You get what you pay for

As others have pointed out, they are large and heavy duty. I even had to modify a set of bits (downsized) to fit the 2" locking ring I had to work with. If you need a powerful internal and external pliers, then this is for you. Yes, they are expensive, but they work without problems, so priceless for me.

Durable and easy to use!

Loved the set! Shortly after the tip of another "heavy duty" kit broke that had hard, non-replaceable tips, he pulled a 3 -Inner inner ring 5" deep out of the hanging bottom block! The ratcheting feature allows you to adjust tension with one hand, the pliers won't slip off, then you can either continue with the ratchet or use two hands to squeeze and lock the pliers, to pull the ring slightly with one hand and if necessary hold the light with the other hand. !

Durable and easy to use!

Nothing Else - Hand Tools

The right tool for the right job. I also had to work a little with them. But it worked almost perfectly. There were some issues where it could slip, if only at the top. If you can get a small screwdriver/pick to push the locking ring further into the tips, that's AMAZING. I also had some problems with deep inner rings. But hey, I get paid by the hour. If you have snap rings this size, you NEED this size pliers. You won't have a good time with inferior substitutes/hacks. Just pay attention to…

Great, but a rusty circlip will bend even this monstrous tool

These pliers are beasts. Used them to easily remove a 7th generation Honda Accord wheel bearing snap ring (after following the advice below). A tip: Even with these behemoths, if your locking ring is rusted/corroded, the handles of these pliers will bend. Be sure to use a wire brush and some rust to loosen the locking ring first.
