After owning this router for over 4 years I have tried two new Netgear router models, the R6700v3 and the R7000P. None of them were as good as the R6250. The main problem with the R6700 is the SSID limitation. This prevents the same SSID from being used for the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. This forces you to have multiple SSIDs on the same network. Bridge. I hooked it up via a 5GHz N-AC from an R6300v1 to provide wired LAN connectivity to my upstairs shop and it was incredibly easy (updated DD-WRT routers are usually used). I connected my main system to a GHz port with a Cat 6 cable and it delivers amazing speed and throughput and works flawlessly. Connecting a few other machines didn't slow anything down. This WiFi router is great, it can be a little expensive but it is worth the investment, the WiFi performance alone is literally like a bulldozer, the signal is strong. My house is over 90 years old and the walls are so thick that my old router had a hard time reaching me on the third floor and through some of the walls in my house without constant buffering.
