Waste of money

Possibly the most inefficient product I have ever bought. I've used it multiple times over the course of 9 months in different outlets/rooms/corridors/etc. tested and it turned out that the connection speed is significantly slower than just connecting to the already worst WiFi. Very, very disappointing.

Pros
  • Extended WiFi
Cons
  • Expensive

Simple, easy setup, affordable way to extend your WiFi coverage

I bought one of these and the configuration couldn't be simpler. Plug it into the wall, wait for the status light to turn green, press the WPS button on the bottom left, and then go to your wireless router and press the WPS button. That's all. It simply adds "_EXT" to your existing Wi-Fi SSID using the same security method and password.

Pros
  • Works with any existing WiFi router or gateway
Cons
  • Hard to tell

So far so good for USB network adapters

The extender works without further configuration. My main router is a Netgear Nighthawk R8000, so this extender might well work well with its big brother. I *didn't* use the first WPS-based installation method. WPS IS NOT SECURE! Instead, I used the second process, which sets up a WPA-based network. It creates a second network, mynetworkname_EXT. I would like this to really expand the current network, but I'm not sure if that's technically possible. I'll keep playing with it and will update it…

Pros
  • Download the NETGEAR WiFi Analytics app before setting up the WiFi extender
Cons
  • Performance speed
