So far so good for modems

No problem, gets me advertised speed :) Comcast couldn't find my modem when adding (serial number and/or MAC) to my account to finally send a restart signal from the app or browser. But so far so good!

Pros
  • Finally bought
Cons
  • Almost everything there

Great modem connection

Finally I have a product that really works and is worth every penny, so easy to install and great connectivity around the house!

Pros
  • Looking forward to
Cons
  • updates available

I bought this modem after upgrading my internet service to 1 gigabit internet through Xfinity , which is designed for a maximum speed of approx. 970 MBit down. From the first boot of the modem I only got about 300 Mbps down and about 30 Mbps up. The maximum I've ever seen was 477.97 Mbps downstream and 41.77 Mbps downstream traffic, recorded at 1:44 AM CST on July 4th, when traffic over the general internet connection was at its lowest was. Finally, I was able to confirm through numerousโ€ฆ

Great unit - works great

Replaces an obsolete Arris cable modem. Was a little worried about the 'updated/refurbished' unit but it looks new and works great. It took a few boot cycles to activate Comcast, but it ended up showing up and working fine. Has only been installed for 24 hours, therefore it is not possible to determine the probable lifespan.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Quality DOCSIS 3.1 modem at a good price

Once installed and running, it works great! Get full speed with no codeword or power/signal issues. The only issues I have relate to the inability to personally and manually update/reset the firmware, which doesn't really affect the performance of the modem itself.

Pros
  • Nice
Cons
  • Good but not great

Extreme delay jumps.

Extremely high ping latency approximately every 30 seconds. My original setup was a Motorola SB6141 modem with an Asus RT AC68R. I switched to this modem with an eero router. Although the signal is strong, the extremely high latency spikes make it unusable. I'll get a new one tomorrow so we'll see if it's defective. Edit: I got a new copy and changed my router configuration. That works fine. There are no more delays. Edit: Bursts again, 4 different routers used. Same result.

MUCH better than the cable company's modem

I decided to purchase rather than pay my cable company's monthly rent. I pay for 330 Mbps (as fast as I need) but most of the time I only saw about 100 Mbps through an old Arris modem/router combo I rented. I bought this refurbished model, plugged it in, activated it with a simple call to the cable company and voila! There was my 330 Mbps. No complaints so far, and they will pay for themselves in just a few months.

Pros
  • Electronics
Cons
  • Useless features

Error fortunately within 90 days

The modem has been installed for 86 days. During that time, I've had occasional instances where all the LEDs went off, except for the Ethernet LED, which was solid orange all the time. Usually I could turn the modem off and on again and it worked again for a couple of weeks. The modem did the same thing last night, but after turning it on and off it didn't work again. I turned it off for 30 minutes but it still didn't work so I had to go back to my old modem. I started a refund which luckilyโ€ฆ
