Never used, tried but the connection was slower than the current connection. I was hoping to bypass my regular port as for some reason it doesn't stay in place well, I need to make sure something is pressing on the connection point (no the clip isn't broken, it's stuck in the port, it is just loose for some reason ) But the bypass caused a slower connection.

. This is great for connecting my computer directly to my modem or router for WiFi troubleshooting. My current laptop doesn't have an ethernet port, and when my router started having problems, tech support couldn't help me unless I could connect my computer directly to the modem. It was an inexpensive way to do this and saved me from having to borrow a computer.

My kids have been using it for months since I bought it and it works perfectly, they used it first on Windows 10 and then on Linux Mint 18.2 and they didn't have to install a driver or whatever works easy. Although my kids accidentally pulled this adapter out of their computer more than once (the ethernet cable was too long), they just plugged it back in and it worked. I'd say it's durable, tolerates minor glitches, and works flawlessly.

It works on my Windows 7 laptop without installing drivers or other software, just plug and play. The connection appears to be as fast as a dedicated Ethernet jack. It doesn't look like it's made from the highest quality materials, but why spend more when it does what it's supposed to do?

I recently received a narrow lightning strike that destroyed most of the equipment connected to the phone lines. Both of my Win7 computers could not connect to the internet using the new modem provided by the ISP. Both internal Ethernet devices were found to be faulty, requiring a different connection method.
