These shoes do not tie. I thought the picture only covered the laces. The elastic straps that hold the shoes in place ensure a snug fit, so my daughter wasn't able to adjust the size she now wears with this brand with a traditional lace. Although she wears a size 11.5 she can also wear a size 12 as it is such a slight sizing that 11.5 doesn't really fit without a BIG twitch. Too many to wear every day.
