Okay, for those wondering, a regular larger USB connector is open-ended on one end of this adapter, which converts or adapts the signal via the built-in USB Type-C connector on the other end, so you can use a Connect to anything you need. This purchase is mainly for connecting silver/black Seagate backup drives to the MBP. The connection to the drive's USB cable is very secure and connects and disconnects effortlessly, even if you pull on the cable. I think they are pretty durable for their lightweight feel. I tried this on my Mac Air. One would light up, but I couldn't move the arrow and it wouldn't click/select. The other didn't work at all. A note in the box said to contact the seller before complaining. I have sent an E-Mail. Brian replied and told me to plug it in all the way and make sure the "driver" is installed.
