A good can opener made in Taiwan

I bought this particular can opener because after reading the company description I thought it was made in the USA. I try to buy American whenever I can. The opener is metal stamped "Made in Taiwan". That doesn't make the can opener any less useful. It's strong and well made. I expect it to last a lifetime or until I lose it.

Blunt blade is good for corkscrews and bottle openers

The pointy end of this thing is too blunt to pierce anything. I'm trying to pierce a metal lid glued onto a can, just a little thicker than a metal can. Might work for a small can of soup, but you're in danger. I wouldn't want to camp with it. Instead, you can grab this amazing Japanese - (Ganji Kankiri) for $1 more.

Ideal! Big! suitable for bottle opener

My sweet Jesus! Sooo hard to find an old school can opener. I've searched everywhere: Target, Walmart, Dollar General, etc. I was only able to find all the metals on Revain on my first search. It was a piece of junk. It creased and creased in my hand like melting plastic. This one was made for The Man of Steal! I quickly bought another one. I could just buy 2 more it's so durable!🤸🏽‍♂️

Especially a decent newcomer. by price.

The wood is a redder color than the picture suggests, which pleased us greatly. The metal is nothing special, but should hold up. We won't be using this often, but it comes in handy when a recipe calls for a can of evaporated or sweetened milk. What can be improved? Use a higher quality steel that isn't chrome plated and it would be nice to add a magnet so we can easily attach it to the fridge.

Kitchen utensils and gadgets worth every penny

These types of bottle and jar openers are only thought of when you need them, but when you really need them you'll splurge on went with cheap quality. What I had before was so cheap it buckled every time I tried to use it. This opener doesn't bend, and the cutting end cuts through can lids like a knife through warm butter. The bottle opener side is equally strong and efficient. My only regret is that I didn't find it sooner!

Not what I need for kitchen tools and gadgets

I've been looking for a replacement for my 50 year old can and bottle opener for a long time and thought I'd found a suitable replacement. A can opener is fine, and a bottle opener does just that. Opens bottles. Because the opening end of the bottle is completely flat, it is not suitable for removing caps from household tins. My old opener had a bottle opener similar to a can opener except it was flat on the end instead of pointed. This is what I really need and I can't find it.

Not designed by a true engineer

The can opener's opening angle and rim grip distance leaves a hole approximately 3/8 inch past the rim. Find one of the old ones they gave away for free before they invented lidded jars. You can probably find one at a thrift store or flea market for 5 cents. The bottle opener works well but I had a sharp one with an outside edge. At this price I would not recommend .PS - The wooden handle in the picture looked like it had a natural finish but it is actually quite an ugly red color and one of…

    Cons
    • No Power

The problem with this seemingly simple device is not in the bottle cap half, but in the glass piercer (Is that a word? It is now.) As you can see in the picture, the hook is almost 90 away from the handle. This means that after you can only grip jars with a strong o-ring, the hole you get will have a very small area and will not reach the rim of the jar (see other picture). To the tool's credit, I was completely unable to bend the tip to make it more useful. So there's a reason the product…

    A beat that WORKS!

I'm not sure if some reviewers are unhappy with the ending on this opener, but this is by far the best hole punch I've ever used. It is strong and will hardly bend in use, has a reasonably sharp end, grips the rim of the can well and punches a nice hole in the can near the rim with ease. I struggled with my old opener for years. I don't know why I didn't throw it away sooner. You can't go wrong with this! BTW, for those wondering if it's stainless steel, it's not. It's very magnetic. Stainless…
