Description of 🧰 NTE Electronics SW04-10 No-Clean Solder Wick for Precise Desoldering, 4 Blue.098" Width, 10' Length – Anti-Static Bobbin Included

Removes up to four times more solder than conventional wick, and extracts solder much faster than wicks based on type-r fluxes. Residue left behind is Halide free and non-conductive, so it does NOT have to be cleaned off the board. 100 percent copper wick has fine braid design to promote strong capillary action to pull in excess solder. Available with standard or anti-static bobbins.

Great solder! for soldering and soldering equipment

I use a wick at work that doesn't attract solder. That's great! I had to order more because there's nothing worse than not being able to remove excess solder from tiny holes. I love this product!

got a job - Soldering and soldering supplies

Haven't used a solder wick in years. I needed to replace the audio output chips in my car stereo. It was a slow process. I remember the solder wick working great, but this wick acted like it didn't have enough flux in it. I used to work full-time in electronics repair. The last time I bought a good solder wick it was $1.00 for 10 feet of excellent solder wick. Shows how long it's been. Also shows my age. Thank you!

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Very expensive

I didn't have much luck with wicks like this until I saw a video of the soldering iron being placed on the opposite side of the board. In my (admittedly unprofessional) experience, placing a hot iron over the wick seems to stop the wick from working. However, as I mentioned, using it seems to work pretty well. To do this you will need some sort of vise or clamp to hold the circuit board vertically. The product is actually nothing more than a finely woven wire that absorbs the solder through…

Pros
  • Best in its niche
