Perfect fit for 2000 Volkswagen Jetta TDI 1.9

Perfect fit for my Jetta's clutch pulley. The cost of buying tools for just one job that would cost them in a shop. If you are replacing the same clutch pulley part on a Jetta the easiest way to do this is to remove the left hand bracket (passenger engine mount) and lift the engine over the frame and use this tool and wrench to unscrew the old one to remove house and install the new one.

Pros
  • Great fit for me
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

Seems versatile and did the job.

Used once, with a percussion pistol, has served its purpose. The set seems to be universal. I will say between the cost of this kit and the decoupling pulley you are better off if you can find the entire generator for a good price by simply buying it as a whole. I switched and the ALT turned out to be bad anyway so for the first time I was able to save about $70 hours on swapping and replacing parts, plus I now have a new ALT. That's my 10 cents

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • No assault rifle

Used once, not broken.

Needed to change some alternator pulleys on my private car. I'm sure if this tool had to be used daily it would wear out quickly but I've used it twice in 12 months and it's still fine. For the price, it's a quarter of the cost of an hour's work in a shop to do the same job. What's the difference if it's not snap-on? It does its job and saves me $$$. At my old job, the new mechanics had nice shiny tool cabinets full of socket tools. Experienced mechanics at ASE Diesel had cupboards full of port

Pros
  • The best in its niche
Cons
  • Some little things

Head 10 broke on first use.

Everything else about this tool seems well made except for the part I needed most - the 10mm socket that goes into the 17mm hex fits. I've read mixed reviews about it including breaking the 10mm socket but others have had better luck even with an impact wrench. I soaked PB Blaster threads for two days while waiting for the part to arrive. Unfortunately that didn't help either. Not sure how they could have changed the design due to the limited space but maybe a stronger material would have…

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

A tool that works – finally!

Before I received this tool, I ordered a similar tool kit from another manufacturer. This 10mm bushing broke when I tried to remove the alternator pulley from my car's alternator while it was in the engine bay. I got an OEMTOOLS tool kit and used it with a 10mm socket (hold the shaft with a 10mm wrench) on the same alternator pulley. ) and a 17mm head (hold with a 19mm wrench). To my delight, I was able to remove the pulley with considerable effort (the car had driven about 100,000 km and the…
