Good value for money

Pros: I like the clear case. A bit rough but at least you know what might be in your water. Ease of installation. Good instructions, few details. Cons: Docking the plastic hull to the metal tubes was a problem. Easily removable and had some leaks until I cut the tape in half. Difficult to align the filters with the top.

Use lots of teflon tape

I have had 2 Culligan filter housings before. Both dripped from the pressure release button after about three years. I bought this because it doesn't have a check valve (my system already has a check valve) and because the pressure release button is different (and hopefully won't leak anytime soon. Other reviewers said they had to use extra Teflon tape on the threads. Twice I've had used what I thought was extra tape and it leaked on one side. The third time I used A LOT of tape. This time there…

Item as described, arrived quickly and works perfectly.

High quality and works well. O-ring arrangement is superior to other designs. I wanted to have spare o-rings before every service just in case. CAUTION: There seems to be some confusion as to the correct o-ring size based on product number. The replacement parts that I bought according to the product number are the wrong size and too big. Haven't found a proper o ring replacement yet but the assemblies are a fantastic product with a heavy duty built in bracket.

Cons

Beware! This is not a 4.5 inch filter! Mislabelled SKU

I ordered this unit thinking it was a 4.5 inch filter as the ad title makes clear. This is a 2.5 inch filter! I only noticed it when installing. To turn the water back on I had to remove layers of the 4.50 inch filter to fit the smaller cartridge. heaps of BS! A full refund is not possible as it is already installed. Revain gave me a discount, but I really wanted a larger filter system (10" x 4.50"). Note. However, the quality of the filter system seems to be good.

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
  • too stupid

lasted a long time, No: replacement water filter

One star deducted due to failure of previous product, cracked on bottom after about 15 years. Both are a few weeks apart. Now the new style does not match the thread size of the old models. Yes, times change, but there was never a problem with the old thread size, so why change them? I just want to buy a new canister and not fill a new one. When the old canisters leaked, I found my basement floor as wet as a water heater leaking. It took me a while to find the leak, it was such a small creek…

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • No mold required

Simple Reliable Filter

This is a very simple filter design that I think is one of the best. Simplified design improves reliability. The best thing about this system is the installation; The one-piece top has solid mounting holes that allow you to mount the filter to something rigid rather than just hanging between pipes. This means that changing the filter is much easier; Holding the device in place, you can safely remove the bottom knowing the top isn't trying to twist together with the bottom. The maintenance of…

DO NOT buy this filter housing!

I rarely write reviews, but I want to warn anyone who (like me) is tempted to ignore 1-star reviews and take a risk with this filter. DO NOT BUY THIS. Leaking (despite the O-ring) at the joint between the filter housing and the blue bonnet/bracket. I spent about an hour installing/removing this, first with the o-ring (ha!) and then adding the sealant. In my relatively low pressure system, it kept leaking no matter what I did. Unacceptable, so it goes backwards. Don't make my mistake and waste…

Pros
  • Easy to read panel
Cons
  • Corrupted

Just what I needed to filter and soften water

Drink well water and collect lots of sediment. I already have a filtration system and it captures 80% of the particles, but my water tastes bland and washing white gives it a slight gray cast after a wash or two. This filter along with my other filter was easy to install which took about an hour considering the setting time of the PVC cement. The difference in taste was striking, to say the least. A good investment as it also saves me from buying bottled water for my coffee maker. And no bleach

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • I'll be silent

Just what I needed: spare water filter under the sink

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • something different

For about the same price you can get a filter housing with brass or stainless steel threaded inserts, which are much more durable. Also, I suspect, at least on the device I received, that the diameter of the threaded portion of the holes was too large to fit snugly on the male ends of the tubes. I wrapped the ends of the tubes with teflon tape, which seemed sufficient to me, about 6-8 turns. But when I screwed in the ends of the tubes, they were against the body and still not tightened. I ended

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Big and bulky
