Description of Opteka 6 5Mm Fisheye Digital Cameras

EXPANSIVE 180 DEGREE VIEW - The Opteka 6.5mm f/3.5 Circular Fisheye Lens offers an incredibly exciting perspective and takes photography to a range that exceeds the ability of the human eye. Bend the typical view of your photographs and video to the extreme with the ability to capture a full 180 degree panoramic frame. That fishbowl angle, combined with the impressive 11.8-inch focusing distance, allows an incredible depth of field making the 6.5mm the perfect addition to your bag of tricks. HD SUPER MULTI-COATED OPTICS - In order to assist with the common and annoying problem of flare and ghosting, Opteka's Fisheye lens has been coated with a special layer above the optics to reduce this harmful effect. Additionally, a removable petal shaped lens hood is included reducing further the amount of light directly on the lens. This provides a valuable shelter from unwanted light rays helping you to capture ultra clear and vivid images. CONSISTENT AND SHARP IMAGES - Because a single aspherical element is utilized in the lens, this helps to reduce aberrations while maintaining a consistent illumination for sharpness around the entire image edge. Because there is so much detail in the frame of the fisheye with its wide angle view, this welcome addition is a helpful tool to create high quality and consistent images every time. DURABLE HEAVY DUTY CONSTRUCTION - With an aluminum alloy lens mount, a super strong connection between lens and camera ensures your Opteka Fisheye will hold up against wear and tear and keep you capturing incredible images for years to come. COMPATIBILITY - Can be used on all Nikon DX APS-C cameras including D7500, D7200, D7100, D7000, D5600, D5500, D5400, D5300, D5200, D5100, D5000, D3500, D3400, D3300, D3200, D3100, D3000, D500, D90, D80, D70, D60, D50, D40.

Actually quite surprising at the price!

This lens performs surprisingly well. I use it with a D610 and you must know how to use a non-CPU manual lens but as they say it takes damn good pictures. However, I was initially frustrated when the lens arrived based on the description of Revain. Therefore . This is NOT a feature of full frame/FX cameras like my D610 as the name and description would suggest. The packaging even clearly states that it is only an APS/C (DX) sensor. I actually wanted to return it immediately, but decided to take

This is a fun and inexpensive lens if you want to experiment.

This is a fun and inexpensive lens if you want to experiment with fisheye. Clarity is good, as is decent glass, and I got some decently sharp shots. Remember that you have to shoot in manual mode! I've read so many reviews where users say "it doesn't work". This is because you need to put the camera in manual mode. Focusing on this lens is minimal. You will hardly notice a difference when moving the focus ring. I just set it to infinity and set my aperture to around f/5.6 for most of my shots…

Budget lens with decent optics, has mechanical issues.

I really enjoy using this lens but it has mechanical quality issues. Optically, it performs quite well for a new sub-$150 lens. Pros: Works with all three of my Nikon DSLRs. The focus ring is smooth, the lens barrel and the optics are very good for the price. Excellent color rendering, good contrast, acceptable sharpness. Cons: The petal hood is flimsy and doesn't stay in place. I had to use black tape to hold it in place. A small issue compared to the next, aperture. The aperture ring has…

Great price for a decent fisheye just make sure the screws are tight

Glad I bought this lens. This is an inexpensive fish eye that does a pretty good job. It's not the sharpest lens and there is some chromatic aberration, but for 1/3 the price of a Nikkor lens it was worth it. Over time the lens started to wobble a bit, the mount was really capable of separating from the rest of the lens. I didn't really know what was wrong with it until I noticed that the screws holding the mount to the rest of the lens were loose. I re-tightened them with a small Phillips…

A great alternative to the expensive branded fisheye

Not pleasant at all for such a cheap lens. I was very surprised by the metal construction, which honestly seems to be more durable than some mid-range Nikon lenses. The focus is smooth and the aperture wheel is clearly fixed. It takes some force to turn the ring, but I'm fine with that as it doesn't lock. Image quality is quite good for a cheap rebranded Korean lens. Recently, Korean manufacturing has taken a big step forward when it comes to low quality. In terms of image quality, I would…
