Durable and works great

This is perfect for quad and mini truck springs, I've used them a few times with no problems. I doubt they will work in every passenger car, but they do an excellent job of what they were designed for.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Very expensive

Brooke in Action: Steering and Suspension Tools

This thing is dangerous. It has plastic lugs that touch the spring and slide as you tighten it. It's like holding a hand grenade. Spend more and get a triangular compressor like Chopper.

Pros
  • Easy Installation
Cons
  • Damaged

Good quality and price would recommend for motorcycle coil springs

Worked great to remove the spring from my cb500x traction damper. Quality is good, definitely a viable tool for smaller coil springs. Before use, it is advisable to apply a small amount of lubricant to the threads.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Not as thick as other rebound dampers

Worked but was patchy

Be careful. It did the job but took a few tries due to slippage. If you are not careful, you can easily injure yourself. I didn't have much confidence in it when I looked at the product but it surprised me. I used it on a 1200 lb motorcycle rear spring.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons

Worked on Can Am Spyder Springs

Needed to compress the front springs on my 2010 Can Am Spyder RT. There was no room for automotive-style spring compressors. This tool worked great for my purpose. Very glad I bought it. The plastic jaws made me nervous at first, but I had no problems.

Pros
  • Solid Surface
Cons
  • Negative

Not for heavy springs. Works great on lighter

Bought and used to replace the springs on a BMW K1200LT. Very heavy bike, individual shock absorbers front and rear. They failed behind; For security reasons I took it to the store and installed it. They did a GREAT job on the front shock; Once on the bench I had the springs changed in less than 10 minutes. Very good for what they are.

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Expensive

Works perfectly. on tools and devices

Bought these to replace old rusty springs on an old Suzuki GS750. It took me about 10 minutes to swap out the springs. I agree with some of the previous reviews about putting a little lube on the threads in the past. smooth it out I used an impact wrench and a 3/8 inch extension. Worked great. As with all spring compressors, do not compress the spring unevenly, just a little on each side, just enough to remove the stop plates etc, and most importantly, DO NOT place your fingers where they could

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
