Description of πŸ› οΈ OTC (7494A) Rear Axle Bearing Kit: Efficient Service Set for Rear Axle Bearings

All three pullers have been redesigned to make the removal of semi-floating rear axle bearings easier. The new design allows you to capture the bearing firmly distributing the pulling force over the entire bearing. This reduces damage and increases the amount of applications. Set includes three pullers to service most domestic cars. Includes one each 7495A 7496A and 7497A and a storage case.

Requires additional components to function.

Worked great to get the axle seals out the back of an 8" Ford. You'll need to get their recommended slide hammer ($90) to use it. Or take a thread of the same pitch and use the head of an old sledgehammer as a slide hammer.

Pros
  • A few competitors
Cons
  • I'll add later

Disassembled bearing and axle seal on a 2004 Pioneer

I used this kit to remove rear axle/wheel bearing seals on a 2004 Pioneer. I used the medium sized puller that came with the kit. I was able to pull both the seal and bearing out at the same time and had no problem with it slipping through the bearing. I used a 10lb slide hammer.

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Unbelievable price

I couldn't do without her.

I read the reviews to find out what I wanted to use it for. Most reviews said I would have to change them to make them work. The project was a 2003 F150 rear axle bearing. The bearings were original on a truck with 140,000 km mileage. These bearings pulled out with no problem. I connected them with a 5 pound slide hammer.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

Great product, worked with no problems.

Removed bearings and seals on my full size 1991 Chevy Blazer with no problems. I would recommend using with 10lb. Slide hammer as I believe a 5lb hammer would be much more difficult. slide hammer. I had a problem, I first broke a bad bearing with the smallest puller. A medium sized puller was required, I would start with the largest puller first and then scale down until I got the right fit. If I used the right medium sized puller, it was an easy job.

Pros
  • Best in the niche
Cons
  • Hard to say

Great OTC tool! good for puller sets

Very easy to use. Good value for money. I used an OTC puller to remove rear axle bearings and seals from my 2003 Dodge Ram 1500. Worked great! Bought my OTC puller set, slide hammer set, rear axle bearings, rear axle seals, differential fluid and Lube Locker differential cover gasket from Revain. The money I saved by ordering all of these parts from Revain and doing the job myself (instead of taking my truck to an auto repair shop) easily justifies the purchase. Now I have tools for future work

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Mostly good, but...
