Worked great with a mid 2010 iMac. Replaced original HDD with Samsung EVO 850 500GV SSD. No issues with the fan so this thing did the trick. 40 dollars for a small thing is too much in my opinion. Our family is wholly owned by Apple. Sometimes we need to upgrade or replace parts. We bought this to take apart an iMac and replace the hard drive. Removing the screen worked great, but when we reassembled the car and removed the cups, they literally ripped apart. We didn't even remove the cups between removing the screen and installing it. No roughness is not necessary, the cups literally fell apart. We ended up sending the whole set back and ordering something else.
