received a dirty and broken meat grinder

item arrived with food stuck to it. Someone has already used the product and sent it back. Half of the items were not in the original packaging and the food grinder doesn't really work, looks like someone used excessive force when attaching the crank/handle. The bar, which should attach to the slot/hook at the top of the shell, is not diagonal to the post, but at an angle. The bar is under the notch in the post (it should be above the notch and spring). This is more of a negative review about…

Grey/Black Particles in Food - DO NOT BUY

This is quite a functional meat grinder. I was mostly satisfied with the functionality. However, this appears to be too labor intensive as the skin/food pieces are compacted and the blade simply slides OR vice versa and it is difficult for the blade to pick up pieces between the screen and the blade. It performs well, it's easy to clean, easy to assemble, it has multiple disc sizes, it sits securely on the bowl or pan. It has a lot to like. except that it doesn't do what it's supposed to. It doesn't actually grind food. It didn't work with any of the products I tried to process. This is a fundamental design flaw. The ATK review says the problem…

Ideal kitchen tool for growing tomatoes

Our tomato garden was particularly rich this year. Prepare sauces and soups. I bought an expensive Williams-Sonoma meat grinder a few years ago, but it worked so poorly that I took it back. This year I did some research and decided to try the OXO Good Grips Meat Grinder and it works flawlessly. All of these tomatoes were mashed up in no time, and peeling them was an easy task. I haven't tried grinding other foods yet, but I bet this would work well for applesauce too. A few important tips: Cook
