Works well with aftermarket stereo and Tacoma JBL system

A few years ago I bought a cheaper unamplified Axxess suspension and installed it on my Tacoma. Everything worked fine for a while, and then the speaker randomly broke and went front to back and back again. I got to a point where I couldn't handle the hassle anymore, so I did my research and bought this pendant instead. The instructions are easy, so I got out the old one and took care of the rest, which turned out to be good. My JVC stereo is now working as it should, no interruptions :)

Pros
  • delivery was very fast

2010 Prius V JBL, So Easy

Use this for 2010 Prius with JBL! So easy. A few things to help people in the same boat.1. Use ports 1 and 3 and don't worry about OBD.2. Purchase a Metra camera harness (Toycam-2) and connect it to the pink pin 5 of the reverse connector.3. Make sure everything is tight on this bypass box. For some reason the 3.5mm handlebar is delicate, so aim the wire up if possible and cover it with tape. Everything else is perfect and way better than the Metra version. When everything is connected, there…

Weird clicking when going into reverse

This is a replacement for the first one, I called tech support because the unit clicked when going into reverse and the rear camera wouldn't stay on (the screen off). Flickering, camera on, off, on, off.) Tech support said the device shouldn't click, they have no idea what could be wrong and so it's defective and needs to be returned, which I did. The exchange went smoothly. , the camera doesn't turn on and off, but there is an odd click when reverse gear is engaged. I don't know why but…

No support, confusing instructions

2006 Tundra Limited with JBL premium audio system. Even after repeated attempts by phone and website, I could not get any support from the manufacturer. You're on your own. I'm a technician and found the instructions confusing and contradictory. You're trying to cover too many options in one guide. After several hours of trying, I found that the instructions contained several errors. This unit will work with a JBL OEM amplifier but fader function will be lost. Really all it did for me was make…

Pros
  • Easy install

  • Cable shorter than other picks

Missing technical documentation

I upgraded my 2006 Toyota Tundra with this. It would be 4 out of 5 if the documentation was better. It's a good product, but if you really want to understand why and what the implications are, the documentation is a bit sparse. There is no technical documentation. The pin assignment of all connections on the cable harness must be identified, a simple matrix list with wire colour, connector and pin is sufficient. Also, brief descriptions of each type of input should be included so that they can…

I would not recommend installing if you are a beginner

Update: I have had this kit on my 2003 4Runner with steering wheel controls and factory JBL system for almost three years. For the most part it worked fine. However, there will be occasional moments when the audio in the car will shift, like the speakers being turned off and then on again. Today I turned the music off and after about 5 minutes the volume itself increased almost to full volume. Sometimes the controls on the steering wheel stop working and then the sound turns on by itself. Now…

Good block, instructions unclear, plan ahead

Controller supports both JBL and non-JBL factory Toyota systems. There are many connections to figure out and the instructions are not very clear. It would be nice if they offered more detailed online schematics like their competitors. While there is factory support for the camera, the output voltage was only measured at 5.1V, so the factory camera, which requires 6V to work, was not turned on. However, this is the only controller that offers forward-reverse damping when used with a JBL system,

Works like a charm. Good for automotive electronics accessories

Works as advertised. I even bought my 'used' one from Revain for a fraction of the price and it arrived in its original packaging, practically an open box. Model PAC RP4.2-TY11 Radiopro4 Ty11. My application for a 2005 Toyota Solara with factory amp from JBL. I chose this model's wiring harness because it contains the connections for the steering wheel controls and fader. The wiring looks intimidating at first glance. The 4 page guide will walk you through this, but it looks like it was written
