Never go beyond its capabilities. Try to stay 10 to 15% below what the rate is for. Please make sure you made tight connections (especially on the load wires). 12-volt dc 5-prong relay, high switching capability. Pin Specifications: 30-VDC (red), 85-Ground (black), 86-Trigger (white), 87-Output /O (blue), 87a-Output N/C (yellow). 12a.w.g&16a.w.g tinned copper wires. Electrical conductivity, corrosion resistance, and oxidation resistance are stronger.

The relay has been modified for higher currents but not as much as I would have liked, short leads

80A relay left open, 40A relay right. They added a strap to the armor but nothing else. The pads are a bit bigger, but it's hard to imagine them coping with an extra amp. I also don't like how short the wires are. But how long do they work? Let's see.

Basically everything is fine: switches and relays

I have purchased these items and am using them for their intended purpose. Right out of the box I found that the crimps on 12 gauge wires (30, 87 and 87a) on the 4 sets I've used so far have very poor crimps. Just today when I installed the last one, as I tampered with the relay to install it, both wires 30 and 87 came right out of the terminal. I had to either recompress everything or replace the ending with a better one. Overall these relays and connectors are a great value at the expense of…

Be very careful when using them!

First off these aren't bad relays anyway. The connectors are also of decent quality and connect very well and as I've been winding the hard way they don't like to fall apart easily. The reason for the review and caution is that the wires are not very strong at all and all but one pulled out with just a slight tug. If I didn't find very loose connections, it could easily cause a relay failure or even a fire. So like I said before, be careful when using them. Also, it was a pleasure to work with…
