I'm glad I have these

I prefer non-plastic items when storing food so I bought these jars. They have more capacity than I thought. They fit perfectly in my closets without having to rearrange the shelves. I don't make kombucha, but I do make sauerkraut, which I think a rubber band and muslin cloth would help with. Being made of glass, the glasses are a bit heavy, but that's a good thing. I might buy more of these in the future if I need glasses.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • No paint required

This is a sticky product, just worried that there is dirty cloth inside, not a new cloth. bender. I would advise the seller to remove this dirty cloth from the inside of the jar because it just gives the buyer a bad feeling and it is not safe to use. In my case, I disinfect it by putting it in boiling water for an hour.

Pros
  • Excellent design
Cons
  • No machine

I can't contact the seller

I found a microcrack on the outside of one of the glasses after I put tea in it. The other jar appears fine but has yet to be sterilized or food spiked, but there are noticeable round "dents" or "nicks" in the jar, relating to long-term storage of the liquid. As damaged glass cannot be returned by post I am unable to set up a replacement or contact the seller. Help me if you can send me good glass or spare set together. I doubt I can use them for my project.

Reliable fermentation glasses at an affordable price.

It was a pleasure to find these glasses! They are made by the same glass company that made the glasses I bought years ago as part of an overpriced vegetable fermentation kit. My existing lids, locks and weights fit these jars and these jars fit in the fridge with ease. I know from experience that glasses are durable and easy to clean. The gallon size is great for fermenting and/or storing sauerkraut. Recommended. The glasses were packed in double boxes with corrugated cardboard dividers and…

Sourdough - not strong enough

I ferment on sourdough and this jar has cracked at the bottom from the weight of the dough. My jar was about 3/4 full of batter and there was a solid crack at the bottom. She missed it 100% and is sitting in a quiet spot on the counter. There was no lid on it, I let the sourdough breathe by simply covering the top with a cloth. It's been over 30 days so can't go back but I'll call Revane to discuss the possibility of returning as the only reason I got the jars was to ferment sourdough in them…

  • New to my collection
