Quality Tool for Matching Bike Hubs

This is a quality tool that works great with matching hubs. An exact fit is required to remove a set of sprockets of a specific design (multiple manufacturers). Well made, good value and delivered quickly.

Pros
  • Dope ๐Ÿ”ฅ
Cons
  • Piggy Bank Price

Tool Very well done

I used this to remove the freehub on a 50 year old Schwinn Collegiate so I could clean and service it. Using a crescent wrench and a lever, I removed the old freehub in less than 30 seconds. Park makes great instruments, so I didn't mind spending a few bucks more for quality.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Protection

Suitable, but not fixed! - Shop Tools

The tool fits securely into the internal teeth of the freewheel. Unfortunately, the freewheel was NEVER removed on this 1982 Schwinn Traveler. not even an extra long 1/2" drive breaker and a pedro vise whip will help. I think that freewheel is stuck! Torch nearby!? So there is no fault of this tool for the result!

Pros
  • Confidence
Cons
  • No automatic

Do not clean Campagnolo axle lock nuts!

I bought this tool to remove a Regina freehub from an old Campagnolo Record hub. Unfortunately, as another reviewer noted, the inside diameter of this tool is too small to clear the axle locknuts and therefore you can't hook a tooth on the ratchet. The only way to use this is to completely disassemble the axle, bearings, cones, etc. before removing the freewheel.

Campagnolo Victory Hub with Regina Freewheel

I have the same problem as some of the other reviewers. The fr-4 tool will not fit the Campagnolo hub axle nut. It's not the tool's fault, I don't think you could make a tool to remove the axle nut and still fit the splines of a Regina freehub. This is a Campagnolo design flaw. The hub axle must be removed before you can insert the tool into the freewheel. It should work on most if not all other freewheel MFG hubs like Regina, Atom etc.

Looks like this one will suffice so I ordered one

I have an early Schwinn Continental trying to remove the freewheel. Unmarked but in Schwinn script. This one looks like it will work, which is why I ordered it. Hey, if it fits great! If not, he'll go with my million spare tools! The tool arrived today. Tried it, perfect for my Schwinn 1-71 5 speed freehub. It was very tight so I decided to try my electric impact wrench. One pull of the trigger and it was loose. This is not a cheap tool, excellent quality.

Pros
  • Heavy duty construction
Cons
  • Expensive

Park Tools are great

What totally inappropriate rating categories does Revain give for reviews? Elongation and thickness are appropriate for clothing, but not for a tool. As for this park freewheel removal tool, it worked great removing the old Atom freewheel from my 1984 Schwinn Le Tour Luxe so I could reinstall it on the new 700c wheel. Several Park Tool bike specific tools including chain link pliers, chain breaker, hub wrench, chain gauge and various freewheel/cassette removal tools. All good quality tools atโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Everything is great!
Cons
  • Available in white only

Parking - NOT! - Sport

I bought this tool to remove a Regina Oro freehub from an old Campy pickup hub. I have a Park Blue repair book and she recommended this tool. When I tried to remove the freewheel it didn't fit the campy locknut. I used to have a bike shop and have never had this problem. I disassembled the Campy hub and used this tool to remove the Regina freewheel. Great difficulties! Then I screwed the Regina firmly onto Phil Wood's hub finder. My idea was to tighten the freehub with a Park FR-4C pullerโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Trial for one year
Cons
