It worked well. I thought it was great until I saw the one the bike shop tech was using. His was better. But it still worked for me. Note. It is not forbidden to extend the pin to the end. It's almost impossible to restart the pen once it's fully ejected.

I don't know if I will ever use this unit again but after spending a few hours disassembling a garage door chain I took a break and looked to Revain for something I can help with. I found this article which I think is for cyclists but it suits me perfectly.

I used to buy a more popular chain tool with a black plastic handle, but it broke on the second use. I didn't want to spend too much on another tool, so I took a chance with this one. That works great! And since it's not plastic, it feels more durable. I wish I could buy this one to start with.

I received the instrument in a plastic bag and it was already removed from the packaging. The tool was supposed to have a zip tie, but it looked like someone had already cut the zip ties. The tool is a good weight heavy metal, it's not plastic at all. However, when I used it, it was already starting to streak. However, he did his job. Well you get what you paid for. :/

Intuitive design. Ability to delete the old chain, partially remove the link from the new chain. The pin puller was bent and wobbly in an ill-fitting stand, yet it was made of very poor quality material. I ended up pulling the pin out with a roofing nail, socket and hammer like I did fifty years ago. Honestly, twice as easy as a faulty tool. I got the job done and when I see fit I will buy a better tool.

You get what you pay for. I paid $7.99 for this circuit breaker and I regret not spending a little more on a reputable brand like Parktool. The pin on this chain cutter will NOT screw straight in and may damage the chain links. The first and last time I used this tool, the threads snapped. Firstly maybe I was too gullible when looking at the price if so. But what the hell did I say and give him a chance. Upon arrival I inspected the unit and decided I could use it a couple of times before it completely failed. Not correct! The threads bend halfway through removing the pen, rendering it unusable. First, this tool is strong enough to work with bicycle chains. Before use, I lubricated the threads of the tool to increase thread life. You insert the chain into the bottom slot, then tighten the bottom banjo bolt up to the chain and lock it so it can't move. Make sure the chain is fully lowered into the tool and the drive pin is aligned with the chain pin. Then screw the tool handle down to drive in the pin. You can push the pin all the way out and it's not easy to tell how far you've moved…
