Not strong enough for sandpaper

Lasts a day or two. My finches never used it at its peak. Maybe soft. Bought some more sandpaper. Anyway, it wasn't good for my birds.

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Perfect size and quality gravel

This is the BEST birdcage paper! I should use 2 for cage size but that's fine because the gravel is clean and helps me keep my 35 year old pigeon healthy!

Pros
  • The Best
Cons
  • New Competitors have appeared

As expected. Birds poop on it.

What can I say? This is birdcage sandpaper. I could say that Lindbergh loves to poop on him, but I won't. I've noticed that since I've been using it, trips to the vet to trim Lindbergh's nails aren't as frequent as they used to be.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

Bulk gravel - bedding and bedding

gravel paper didn't fare well on the trip. The gravel was mostly worn out (due to travel or age) and a few teaspoons of gravel were in the package. My suggestion was to vacuum pack the gravel so the slabs don't rub against each other during transport.

Pros
  • nice thing
Cons
  • not as thick as other fillers

Whis they came in a larger size.

I have a huge bottom cage and while it fits the depth, it's not wide enough to fit the width of the bottom of the cage. I had to use 3 sheets to make it (sigh). I wish these manufacturers would consider larger bottom cages too! Using so many sheets to cover the bottom of these large cages becomes costly.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Some small things

Not recommended - birds

When I first bought it (maybe two years ago) I wasn't happy with it as most of the gravel was no longer stuck to the paper. Wouldn't buy it again but again couldn't find it locally. This time the gravel seems to be sticking to the paper well, but both wrappers are crumpled and the paper doesn't lay completely flat. Every bird owner knows that when there is paper sticking out on the bottom of the cage, it is a prompt for the bird to chew on the paper. I will not buy again.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • So far so good

The gravel is VERY loose and was covered in mysterious oil

The first package I got had more gravel in the damn box than on the paper PLUS there were those weird oil stains on the paper. Obviously you don't want to give little birds anything with mystery oil, so I asked for a replacement. The swap wasn't any better with all that loose sand, but at least it was oil-free. It's cheaper than others, so it's there, but it's just a cut above the regular (free!) newspaper.

Pros
  • Handy thing
Cons
  • Hard to tell
