Great paper, love the smooth surface.

I have used this paper for small watercolors for many years and love it. I just bought it in the 18" x 24" size to try it out. It's a little less successful on larger works as I'm very picky about paper. I work wet-on-wet with a lot of bleeding, but I've gotten a good job out of it, although it's not as tough as the 140-pound cold press I typically use for larger jobs. Not the stated size.

I've been looking and searching for a long time for a 7x5 inch sketchbook that will hold acrylic paints and watercolor pencils. I finally came across this Pentalic. It's quite economical, so I use it to experiment and flesh out different materials and techniques. He perfectly picks up graphite, as well as watercolor and gouache. My micron ink…

Paper 5 stars, format 4 stars. 5 star covers etc

I have other sizes of pental spiral books for nature sketching and such. The paper is marked 25% cotton, heavy enough for lighter watercolors, has a good tooth for dry pencils and is textured enough for color grain and a good average page whiteness, not strikingly white but not quite ivory or cream. . With this landscape format I find it a bit shaky. It needs to be trimmed because the long edges in this format don't fit the large spiral binding so snugly that the pages remain stable when you…
