I wanted some well made skewers for my road bike, a very light Motobecane 853 steel frame and they came in just as many colors! They work well, smooth and look great!

I damaged the skewer in an accident so I was looking for a simple alloy replacement that wasn't very expensive. These skewers were spot on. They run smooth and the red matches the accents on my bike. The stem length is 100mm at the front and 130mm at the rear, which is the standard for road bikes these days.

A bit rough but mechanically robust and good bling factor. I only use them for chic. The aluminum nut has a steel insert, and lever travel is fairly smooth and positive. There is a rough surface underneath the anodizing in the slot on the lever, but you have to look carefully. The metal shaft looks like black oxide coated steel, so the expected lifespan can be 5-10 years.

I ordered a set of these skewers, according to the picture and another customer review they have steel threaded inserts under aluminum caps. What I received only matches what was advertised as both are red. No steel inserts, a completely different lever style, and a darker red color. Not at all what I wanted, at least the size corresponds to the description.

I put them on a bike I'm building (an old (1997) top mountain bike in the line) and they fit exactly like the old ones from the factory. They are a nice red, not the red you sometimes get when looking for colored parts for your bike. Hopefully the bike will be ready soon so I can ride. If they don't last long I'll rewrite this review.
