Long lasting! best in my review

Got this for our new dog, a year old lab/hound mix that weighs 74#. She can be destructive. Soft toys don't last more than a few minutes. Mild interest in kong products. This bone checks all of the boxes: she loves it, chews on it a lot, no little pieces of material left behind [like a wood type bone highly recommended at the pet boutique], she's been chewing on it for 3 weeks and barely made a dent in it. It was suggested by a friend and I'm so glad I ordered one. Highly recommend. Tip-if your

Pros
  • My puppy didn’t take to this at all, until she was over six months old. Then she liked it.
Cons
  • No continued interest in bone since initial interaction.

So worth it in my review

I was skeptical that my dog would find a way to break this into little pieces like every single other toy she has, but it has been amazing! She loves the stick flavor and the barbecue flavor and can chew them forever. Of course the toy does wear down, but it is in such minuscule pieces that you don’t have to worry about them not being able to pass it easily. Will buy again whenever she manages to wear these sticks all the way down

Pros
  • Soft and pliable material won't hurt your dog's mouth
Cons
  • Could cause intestinal blockage

Great for puppy teething

Our little girl loves, loves, loves this toy. She uses it all the time and has mostly stopped chewing sticks outside. She’s a fan and we’ve re ordered to make sure it stays that way!

Pros
  • Pet Supplies
Cons
  • Could cause obstructions in the digestive tract

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Too heavy to run around with.

She seems to enjoy it, but when she’s able to get little pieces off, she shakes her head and spits it out. Don’t really think she likes the taste but she’s an aggressive chewer.

Pros
  • Two-piece set is perfect for multiple dogs or backup
Cons
  • Some dogs may prefer other chew toys

Make sure your dog isn't sensitive to hemp.

So these are probably great for most dogs and my two Bostons loved them. However, turned out my 17 lb boy was extremely sensitive to the hemp and he had a bad reaction that ended us up at the vet with a $1000 bill. The vet said that hemp/cbd toys can produce negative neurological effects in sensitive dogs which turns out our guy is. My older, bigger dog had no problem with it, but the younger one basically had what the vet called the equivalent of a "bad trip". Since these kinds of toys aren't…

Pros
  • Safe for dogs who have digestive sensitivities or allergies
Cons
  • May not be as durable as natural chews

Olde English Bulldogge approved

Very good chew toy! Highly resilient and durable. Our Olde English Bulldogge loves to send hours chewing on it and we've had no issues.

Pros
  • Lightweight design makes it easy to carry around
Cons
  • Could cause irritation to the dog's digestive system

Great dog toy on my review.

This is pretty heav dutyYes your dog will chew away at it but it remains intactGreat toy and love that our dog who is a border collie thinks its a real stick

Pros
  • The dog loves it and it keeps her busy. It has lasted a week so far. Def will buy another one.
Cons
  • Color may fade or bleed onto surfaces

My pooch loves this

I have a large breed 10-month-old pup who destroys nearly all the chew toys we get him. He loves gnawing on this wood bone, and after a week I can see that it is going to last. I was ready to give him a brick to chew! (I would never do that.)

Pros
  • Won't damage furniture or carpet like rawhide
Cons
  • May not be as beneficial to the dog's overall health

Dog loves it in my review

This piece of wood is as hard as steel, yet our dog loves to chew on it. The good thing is that it does not mess up your floor like the wood from your yard does.

Pros
  • Lab approved!
Cons
  • Not recommended for dogs with dental issues

Not as durable as expected

Bought the large one for a 10 month old Berniedoodle that loves sticks. He loved, but managed to chew off/bite off chunks within a few minutes. Not as durable & long lasting as expected based on the description of its durability.

Pros
  • Like but doesn't hold his attention
Cons
  • Can become a breeding ground for bacteria

An Idea Gone Terribly Wrong - Dangerous Toy

I've tried a few toys by Petstages but all have lead to disappointment. The Durable Stick looked like a great idea. It made sense, we have two Old English Bulldogs who are serious Stick addicts. We were hopeful this toy would become a favorite.Durable it is anything but.Within minutes they were eating the toy like a cookie and tiny particles of "scented wood" were spilling out everywere. Our dogs were swallowing as much if not more than was spreading out all over the floor and furniture.I'll…

Pros
  • I bought two but the pup insists on taking grandmas to stick!
Cons
  • Can cause bad breath in some dogs

Great for aggressive chewers, bad for neat freaks

We have two very aggressive chewers in this house. We wanted something that would help with our dogs oral health. We used to use deer shed but our vet said it was best to get something like this as it was softer and better for their teeth. Lasted a couple weeks with them gnawing on those several hours a day. We had to vacuum a few times after a session due to the debris left behind, but that's really the only negative.

Pros
  • Durable construction ensures long-lasting fun for medium dogs
Cons
  • Not suitable for dogs with weak jaws

Great price compared to pet stores

My 6 month old Goldendoodle loves these sticks. She always seems calmer after spending some time chewing on these. May not be as effective in cleaning teeth!

Pros
  • DURABLE ALTERNATIVE WOOD CHEW TOY: Petstages Original and Calming Dogwood chew sticks are made in the U.S.A. from a blend of natural wood fiber and safer synthetic materials to mimic the texture and taste of real wood that your dog will love. This two pack comes with one hemp flavor and one original wood flavor Dogwood.
Cons
  • May not be as effective in cleaning teeth

My OEB Loves This Stick!

This is such a great chew toy. My Old English Bulldog, Pearl, is a prolific chewer. Anything she can get ahold of she'll chew: leather shoes, cords, tools, sticks, you name it. She's obsessed with this stick, and it keeps her occupied for a long time. She likes this better than the heavy-duty rubber chew toys, even if they're meat flavored. This stick is very sturdy, too. I will be buying more for her!

Pros
  • Provides an enjoyable bonding experience between dogs and owners
Cons
  • Could cause chips or splinters that could injure the dog's mouth

Linus” go to chew toy

The durability if these is great. My puppy had his first which is still a nub for 5 months and I ordered the double pack the second time around. Of all his toys this is what Linus reaches for most of the time.

Pros
  • My boy can destroy just about anything but this has survived..... mostly. He loves chewing on this.
Cons
  • Could break into small pieces and be ingested

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Durable but not very appealing to my dog.

These bones are durable for our strong chewer, but she really isn’t very interested in the taste. I didn’t want to deduct stars for a personal reason, but thought it may be helpful to others with finicky pets.

Pros
  • Good choice
Cons
  • May be too expensive for some pet owners

New Favorite! on my review.

Have 3 granddogs and they absolutely went bonkers over these mesquite wood alternative bones! When I opened them up I couldn’t smell anything so I thought they wouldn’t like them but I was wrong! They haven’t stopped chewing on them for about 3 hours now! I picked one up and it smelled of bbq so no wonder they love them. As far as durability they are holding up well. They do have very small bits of plastic that is being left behind but that’s to be expected for these type of bones. If they…

Pros
  • few toys last.. most end up in the poop..
Cons
  • May become slippery when wet

Teething puppy loves it

I have a large, teething puppy who absolutely loves her dog wood. She chews it instead of us which is amazing. The dogs I puppy sit love it too. They will eventually get them so small you have to toss them, but it takes months for that to happen.

Pros
  • Doesn't leave a mess like real animal hides
Cons
  • Could cause damage to the dog's enamel

Best dog chews: my feedback

These are my dogs favorites and mine as well. They last forever and my dogs chew and chew on them. They helps keep their teeth clean and healthy.

Pros
  • We try to keep one for back up. My pup loves to chew on these and they leave little mess.
Cons
  • Has a strong odor that could be unpleasant for some owners

Puppy likes the blue but one not the stick

I wish the blue one could be sold separately maybe it is? She has no interest in the brown one but if I put the blue one in her face she chews on it for a few minutes but then gets bored

Pros
  • Dog's don't go crazy over it. Seems to be holding up so far.
Cons
  • The Good: My Dogo Argentino loved it. The Bad: Gone in 15 minutes. Not for big dogs
