Had a cheap version of this style that put a cork in the bottle. This is easy to insert and easily removes old, brittle plugs. Also a very nice design.

Better Than Cheap Alternatives

Peugeot Pw200251 Mathus Blade-Style Corkscrew looks like cheaper alternatives, but it's a superior product that's well worth the extra cost if you use it regularly. The blades have a thinner cross-section and narrower width, making them easier to insert between the cork and the bottle. The blade design also reduces friction and reduces the likelihood of the cork being pushed into the bottle.

Pros
  • Kitchen Utensils & Gadgets
Cons
  • Vanish

Well made, makes a great gift, blades almost too slippery

A great talking point for any wine lover, this blade-shaped corkscrew is a must-have if you've ever picked a cork in a bottle. The screw is of good weight. to it and just looks great, although you might be wondering what the notch at the base of the handle or the slot in the scabbard (both decorative) is for. It comes in a luxury cardboard box, making this corkscrew a great gift for any wine lover, and it works really well too. Many of the bladed propellers I have tried have suffered from one…
