Whistle noise.: Computers and accessories

When first turned on, the PSU made a howling noise when not under load. Adding half an ampere load calmed him down. But after a few days of use, it now whines noticeably under most loads. Send it back. Update: Received a replacement unit made by Mean Well. Quieter and more efficient!

The construction looks good. The performance has not yet been determined.

I haven't activated it yet, so I can change that later. The power supply is obviously a self-sufficient switching power supply. I'm not sure about the topology of the project. The photos show that the ID card has no security marks. The little I could find out by looking through the vents is that the AC power comes through an EMI filter consisting of a common mode choke and a connector between the lines. There also seems to be EMC filter covers from power lines to earth. From there I see two…

Not worth buying

This power supply didn't work right out of the box. The Power LED was off and there was no output. Due to time constraints, I decided to open up the PSU to see if I could see anything obvious. Bad solder joints were visible on the circuit board. Soldering is missing in some places. After I fixed this new PSU it finally worked. However, that wasn't enough for me. I thought buying a 12 amp power supply to run 4 half amp devices was overkill, but 2 amps dropped the output voltage to almost 4…

Works fine after a month.

This 5V 12A power supply arrived in good condition with no damage and was set at 5.1V which is reasonable. That. At this current level it runs cool, so it's pretty efficient. Internally, it's similar to other "bezel" style consumables with old-school through-holes. It melts and the heat-producing semiconductors make good contact with the thermal paste. I've bought similar power supplies that come with no thermal paste and poor case contact, so that was nice to see. There is an L1/CX1 input…

Suppose there is a language barrier.

I have contacted the seller several times with a fairly serious problem. I've had 2 single board computers die in a matter of seconds and there is no explanation other than a common point: this. The multimeter showed 5.06V. Acceptable. But something happened that knocked them both out. So this is a replacement for Revain's automated returns process. I don't know if it matters, but I boosted the input side with an EMI filter. As long as it works I really trust no Will I be running two devices at

This fixes my Raspberry Pi 3 low voltage warning.

Raspberry Pi 3 supposedly requires a 5V 2.5A power supply. No matter where I plugged it in, there were low voltage warnings. I even tried connecting it to my tablet's 5.2V 3A socket, but sometimes there was still an error. When I used my USB tester on them it was always below 5 volts so they didn't output good current and voltage unless used on their own device. I have no mistakes. I checked the output voltage as expected and it still put out 5.1 volts. I currently power a Raspberry Pi 3B, an…

Stable performance, great price

I use 5V40A product. I gave 5.1v out of the box. I assume there is a potentiometer somewhere (based on other reviews) but I was happy with the default setting. I am powering multiple single board computers, a powered USB hub, and an IoT device. I use it in the home office. , and the only problem is that the fan is quite noisy. Maybe 12A is quieter? I didn't include this in my review as I don't think this is a typical use case for this device. Update: I replaced the fan with a quieter one and it

  • Big and bulky

Inexpensive power supply for non-critical applications

This is a simple switching power supply with no decorations like fans or surge protectors. This is the protection of the rectified line from the fuse side with switching topology. Everything you would expect in this price range. The design is minimalist, it only has the bare essentials to get the job done, which is normal for the price. Made in China with non-premium components (no Sprague, Dale or Ohmite here), Dongbaohe 100uF 450V line capacitor with 5 x 1000uF 16V WCO brand final DC…
