It is only a transmitter. This Package does not include a receiver. If your original transmitter looks different from this product, Please purchase a complete kit with a receiver in the store. Note: seasonal changes of forward and reverse cannot be changed with remote. This transmitter is to be purchased only to replace the remote your Fan was originally installed with. You cannot simply add this unit to any Fan that does not already have a receiver pre-installed. Look inside the old remote with the battery cover off. There is a series of "dip" switches (4). with a pen, slide the switches in the new remote to match the same pattern as the old remote. Replace the battery in the new remote and things should work. This is the remote control for the Ceiling Fan. As long as the Fan has the receiver in it this remote will work with your Harbor breeze Ceiling fans, just remember to set the 4 dip switches inside the battery compartment(they are kinda hidden behind the slot for the battery itself). This is not a universal remote control. Make sure the original remote control model is KUJCE9103ใ€FAN-11T or FAN-53T, or make sure your original remote control model is FAN-HD5 or FAN-35T, otherwise the remote control may not match your receiver.

Easy Install Repaired Ceiling Fan Harbor Breeze

When my son's ceiling fan broke last month I thought it might be worth fixing - I feel like I can do most things can repair. At least research it. Our fan was still spinning and the light was on, but we couldn't change the fan speed (or turn it off) and turn the light off. Based on some basic troubleshooting and diagnostics, I figured the problem was either with the remote or the receiver. Since the tiny red LED on the remote flickered when the buttons were pressed, I figured the receiver wasโ€ฆ

Updated Review - NOT HAPPY

I bought this to replace the remote that came with a fan that wasn't working. This works great! If you are not locally, call an electrician or someone who can help you. I have a Harbor Breeze fan with a ceiling strap and it was a lot of work for me because the old remote receiver and all the electrical connection wires were tucked under the pole that holds the fan in the ceiling. You have to go there, because the bar prevents everything from pulling the rotating part of the device's fan. If you

Works great even when added to a fan that didn't originally come with a remote control

I've read a lot of reviews and the ability to work for a "clean install" didn't appeal to me clear. I also saw the caution of the sellers in their product description. So I contacted them directly. For goodness sake, it's just a switch that works from the remote. Why won't it work? Well they replied that they would and that their statement on new installs was a bit discreet to avoid product returns. All that said, if the canopy tray where your fan touches the ceiling can accommodate a receiverโ€ฆ
