Description of 🛠️ Pirate Patch Knockdown Texture Drywall Repair Tool on Amazon — Top-Quality DIY for Professionals

Pirate Patch is fast and easy (only 6 steps). It is safe for the environment (no aerosol spray) and cost-effective. Unlike competing products that only work one time, you can clean and save your Pirate Patch to reuse. The finished product is comparable to the work of a professional drywall contractor. You don’t need to be a DIY superhero to use this.

Works as advertised.

We have just redone our entire kitchen including major changes to the walls. With so much new drywall to do, we left the texturing to the pros. While the texture didn't quite match the texture of the walls in the rest of the house, it was close enough that no one would ever notice unless they were specifically looking for it. In other words, I don't think it's possible to exactly match your existing texturing pattern even if you hire a professional - you just have to get close enough that…

Good for some, but beware of the above issues

I had to give Pirate Patch a semi-decent rating because it's so easy to use and produces an authentic knockdown texture when used correctly. Now for my biggest issue with the product (and why I'm returning it) 1. It's a smaller square - about 4" x 4" or so and I had an area where one person ruined my drywall and was fixing it but the texture wasn't up to the norm so I used this 4 times in the area next to it (2 top, 2 bottom) to match my texture to the rest of the wall - when it was done. No…

The best invention for texture knockdown

I had 2 long microcracks on the kitchen ceiling with a small step and 1 long one in the living room. Our house is only 6 years old. We knew the drywall wasn't coming back and with the budget I figured I'd do the repairs myself as my neck fusion husband wouldn't be able to do it. I'm new to drywall. I first bought a good quality putty knife called Dap Alex in a container, applied it with a 2" flexible spatula, let it dry thoroughly, then sanded smooth. A few days later I received this miracle…

Expensive but well designed to give amazing results

It turned out great! Overall the results are great but I wish they would develop another metal stencil like this but with a thinner final height for a less textured final look. Remember to rub the outside edges of the patch against the existing wall with a damp sponge after patching. This will give you the best mixing results and minimize grinding after the product has dried. The amount of texture can be adjusted by adjusting the application technique. Use less product and a thinner application

Pros
  • Easy to set up
Cons
  • There are more interesting options.

An OCD Sufferer's Dream

(Not an expert just an OCD homeowner) This thing is awesome and I wish I had found it months ago before doing a lot of patching to cracked ones Fixing nails throughout the house. Other methods I've tried: 1) texturing with a brush (see home renovation video he posted in 2021) 2) with a stiff-bristled cleaning brush (see USG video on texturing without a hopper) 3) electric hopper gun (Wagner ) This thing is very similar to an electric hopper gun, with the added benefit of not having to make a…
